"content": "We got married at Belle Mer's Water Salon early November 2025 and it was the most magical experience of our lives. We worked with Leighton throughout the process and she was extremely helpful, organized, and upfront throughout the process (along with adding humor along the way)! She was always willing to text or hop on a call to talk through any questions. She even got married there herself so she was ready to speak from personal experience!\n\n\n\n\nWe were lucky enough to have our ceremony in late fall outside, and nothing beats the stunning view of the Newport bridge from the lawn. Even the inside is gorgeous with its natural light, high ceilings, crystal chandlers, and bright tones. This was our selling point because we knew the risks of weather impacting an outdoor ceremony and we would've been just as happy indoors.\n\n\n\n\nAll of the staff was extremely attentive and professional. The bridal attendant was by my side the whole time helping with any need. The bartenders were on the run for guest requests if one of the bars were out of stock. The servers were dropping dinner plates in coordination making for an elegant experience. All of the small details make for an elevated experience - like opening the curtains dramatically at the same time during cocktail hour revealing the reception hall when it was time to enter. \n\n\n\n\nThe team was great with setting up all of my decor and working with my vendors. And at the end of the night everything was accounted for and packed away without any stress. \n\n\n\n\nHighly recommend investing in this venue for an unforgettable night that my guests cannot stop talking about!",

The entire staff at the venue was top-notch, and we felt like we didn’t even need to think about a thing. Every detail that we worked with them on was executed perfectly. Our event coordinator, Scarlett, was a pleasure to work with. She actually jumped in less than 3 months before the big day when our old venue coordinator took another job. Initially, we were a little worried about this, but the transition was seamless. She answered all of our millions of questions leading up to the big day. Overall, the venue is STUNNING, a picture-perfect location right on the water with fantastic food. Our guests raved that it was the best wedding food they had ever had and that our wedding was fantastic! We toured quite a few venues in Newport, and Belle Mer was the obvious choice.",

If you’ve always dreamed of a Newport wedding, look no further—Belle Mer is hands down the BEST. \nFrom start to finish, our experience was absolutely incredible. The venue itself is breathtaking, with stunning ocean views and a clean, modern vibe. But what truly sets Belle Mer apart is the exceptional team behind it.\nOur journey began with Talia, who gave my husband and me a tour of the property. She was our main contact in the early stages and was incredibly professional, responsive, and helpful with answering every question and making us feel completely confident in our decision.\nAs we moved further into planning, we were introduced to our lead event manager, Leighton, who was an absolute dream to work with. She was kind, organized, and incredibly attentive to every detail. Throughout the process, she was always available, and made everything so much easier.\nOn the day of the wedding the Belle Mer team absolutely delivered. We had an amazing group : Our head event manager Leighton, venue managers Isam and Janet, and our incredible VIP bridal attendant, Ruth. They worked flawlessly together to ensure everything went off without a hitch, adapting quickly and professionally to the weather without compromising on the experience. Ruth was by my side from the moment I arrived—helping with my dress, offering tissues, making sure I was comfortable and cared for every second of the day. Their coordination, attention, and genuine kindness was amazing! \nAnd the food was absolutely incredible. From the passed hors d’oeuvres to the entrées, everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was!\nWe truly cannot thank the Belle Mer team, especially Leighton,enough for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of—and more—even in the middle of a rainstorm. "content": "My husband and I got married at the Belle Mer Island House in May of this year. Everyone we spoke to from the beginning to end of this process was wonderful. Our event coordinator was Leighton who was AWESOME. She was organized and committed to making sure we had a perfect day. Our bridal attendant Ruthie was also amazing from cheering me on during my solo portraits to making sure I had food, and even my shoes at the end of the night. The grounds were perfect. The food was delicious. It was one thing to feel so taken care of and another to hear from my guests that all of the staff, including the bartenders and catering staff, were helpful and cared about giving a wonderful experience. I am so grateful we did our wedding at Belle Mer. ",

Our 10/06/24 wedding at Belle Mer's Island House was the most perfect, magical, fairytale day-- we cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue and our AMAZING coordinator Leighton! \n\nEveryone says, enjoy the day and don't pay attention to things that go wrong because \"something always goes wrong\". We can't relate. Everything was PERFECT because we lucked out with a true professional. If anything did go wrong, we didn't know about it because Leighton graciously handled it. Even our family members and friends can't stop talking about how phenomenal she was.\n\nWe entered the day unsure of what to expect, but everything was beyond our wildest dreams. Leighton is poised, confident, and the epitome of the person you want in your corner on your most important day. She updated us throughout the day, even snapping some photos of the setup downstairs to see if I wanted to make any changes. She kept everything running smoothly and navigated us through the schedule without making it seem like we were really on a schedule. \n\nShe has a calming presence and we were in the best possible hands. I'm the least calm person on earth, so to feel so relaxed on my wedding day was a dream... and something I never expected. The decor was arranged to perfection and all of the bridal party felt so calm and welcome. \n\nAll correspondence prior to the wedding was informative, prompt, positive, and extremely pleasant. Leighton made many helpful suggestions that benefited the day. \n\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, we couldn't be more grateful. We are so happy that we got to work with Leighton. Belle Mer is more than just a beautiful venue. \n\nIvana was also fabulous. She was there when I needed anything and everything on the wedding day. She automatically knew when help was needed versus when I was just looking around. She was truly magic. I remember feeling nervous about bustling my dress (the seamstress made it sound difficult) and Ivana had it bustled before I even knew she was doing it. She was an absolute sweetheart, so calm, and professional. \n\nAlso the food and beverages were fantastic. So many compliments to the waitstaff, bartenders, and every single manager or staff member that we encountered. \n\nWe might have to renew our vows here someday. Lol. But in all seriousness, We can't get over this experience. Leighton is one in a million. And we recommend Belle Mer a thousand times over.",

"content": "I can’t put into words how amazing my August 2024 wedding was at Belle Met, but I will try my best. The venue itself is stunning. On the day of there was not a flaw in sight. The food was amazing, and several of our guests told us it was the best wedding food that they had ever had. The drinks were amazing, and they were able to accommodate our speciality cocktails without an upcharge. We had the best day, and this was hugely in part to the professional staff and venue. ",

"content": "If we could give Belle Mer more than 5 stars we would. We had been dreaming about getting married there forever and when we got engaged it was the first venue we toured and fell in love. Their staff was so friendly and answered EVERY question and gave a breakdown of everything when it came to pricing. \n\nWe worked with Meghan and Carly and truly they were incredible! They responded so quick to emails and when we decided we wanted to add an extra course they were more than happy to add this and communicate to all staff. \n\nThe venue itself is GORGEOUS!!! The grand staircase to enter was one of the selling points, so we truly could make an entrance as husband and wife. The view was spectacular!!! Between the bridge in the background and the sunset, we couldn’t have asked for more. The space allowed us to do both our ceremony and reception all in one place which made everything easier. \n\nThe staff was great. The food came out and everyone was so impressed. Food was hot and came out exactly when it was supposed to. \n\nBelle Mer truly was a dream come true and we wish we could give it more than 5 stars. ",

We loved the simplicity of the venue and the stunning views - the Island House was perfect size for our approx. 135 guests and felt warm but not cramped. Sara (our coordinator) was super responsive from day 1 and thoroughly guided us through the planning and day of - you're amazing, Sara! We used mostly preferred vendors on the Belle Mer list and are so glad we did - every single one was professional and knew exactly how to set up and work in the venue. Our family and friends all commented on how impressive the Belle Mer team was. Highly recommend Belle Mer if you're planning a Newport wedding.",

Our wedding coordinator, Sara Leonard and her team, worked seamlessly (for almost 18 months) with our wedding planner, Sherri Klein, to produce the most incredible event we could have expected, even though the weather did not cooperate and we did not get to enjoy the outdoor ceremony we had been looking forward to for so long. (a game-time decision had to be made and it was pulled off flawlessly) The food, bars, service and staff were all wonderful and i cannot recommend them enough. Newport is a lovely place for a wedding weekend and this is definitely one of the premier venues. ",

"content": "Belle Mer was absolutely perfect for our wedding. We had our wedding in the Water Salon. The venue is GORGEOUS and has amazing views! The pictures came out breathtaking! Thanks to our event coordinator Sara, the planning process and the day of the wedding was completely stress free. She made sure to keep us on track and made everything so easy! The bridal attendant Ruth was AMAZING too! She made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed throughout the night. On top of that she took care of our parents all night too! Our guests could not stop raving about the food, from appetizers to main course, to late night snacks. We would highly recommend Belle Mer to anyone for the wedding of their dreams! ",

"content": "Belle Mer is truly a stunning venue. We got married at Island House and felt like it was our own private estate. Not to mention the loft area was beautiful for everyone to hang out in. We had a fantastic process from start to finish with the Belle Mer team. My only two complaints were that they didn’t set up enough chairs for my ceremony which i am not sure how that happened and that we were under the impression the late night snacks would be more of a regular portioned food than a tiny app on a platter. If I realized that before I probably would’ve just done a station as most of my guests didn’t get any of the late night bites. The food was exquisite. Everyone raves about it! I also like that even though another wedding can be going on next to you in the other part of Belle Mer you’d never know it because of the fence. We toured what was formerly Gurneys down the street and found Belle Mer truly takes care of their grounds better than the others. I did utilize a few of their preferred vendors which was great. Again hiccups are always expected the wedding day but I was surprised by the size of the late night foods as we were told they were “handhelds a real burger size” and they were not as well as not having enough chairs arranged with an exact ceremony count and this not being noticed until after guest arrival. ",

"content": "My husband and I found belle mer a year before we were even engaged and absolutely knew it was where we would get married! The location is absolutely unmatched. From the gorgeous ballroom (the stairs were a huge selling point, made for amazing photos) to the stunning sunset (our guests are still talking about it!) it was just perfect. \n\nThe staff was friendly and easy to communicate with. We hired Infinite Events for our wedding planning and they made communication a breeze. \n\nSpecial shout out to Ruthie, the bridal attendant, who was by my side during every important moment making sure I had everything I needed. She was a comforting, friendly person that every bride needs on their day. Additionally, Sara Leonard the event specialist was incredible. She was present through it all and communication was always timely. \n\nThe food was amazing, our guests still rave about the late night snacks! It was a fun touch recommended by our planner, Ashlie. The ballroom was the perfect backdrop for any style as it is all white and just gorgeous. Stoneblossom did our florals, they knew the venue and exactly how to make my vision a reality. All in all I couldn’t have asked for a better team or venue!",

I feel like every email I sent her was a novel, and to each one she responded promptly, and super detailed. She explained everything so clearly, so we knew exactly what was going on all the time. Every time I changed my mind, she was on it! It was really reassuring to work with Belle Mer & Meghan because they know what they are doing, they do weddings ALL the time, and it was really wonderful to just show up & be totally taken care of, we trusted them completely. "content": "Belle Mer was absolutely wonderful! We had originally booked to host our wedding at Belle Mer in May 2020 and after several rounds of delay, we ended up having our wedding in Sept 2022. Belle Mer were a dream throughout the entire process, allowing us to move our wedding without penalty. They were so kind and understanding. We were planning the wedding from across the country so having a Belle Mer be able to take care of rentals of linens, flatware, furniture, etc made it everything so easy for us. All of our other vendors had worked at Belle Mer before so everything just went together so smoothly without much oversight from us. Our coordinator, Meghan, communicated with us throughout the entire process and was also prompt and thorough in responding to our emails. While Belle Mer is certainly a luxury venue, Meghan was always conscious of our budget when helping us plan. She met with us the day before the wedding to go through the whole ceremony with our bridal party. She was also present on the day of our wedding to keep things running smoothly (and even ready with bobby pins to keep my veil in place when I forgot). Our bridal attendant on the day was also so wonderful to work with. The food was excellent and the staff were complete professionals and we couldn’t have been happier with them. We had a beautiful sunny day, and the sunset over the water was so beautiful.",

"content": "My husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at Belle Mer’s Island House on July 10, 2022 and it was better than anything we could have dreamed of. Our wedding planning process was unique, as we planned a destination wedding during a global pandemic. Because we were picking our venue in early 2021, we could not travel to New England, and Emily Dibello was kind enough to offer us a virtual tour. Emily could not have been more helpful and flexible, making a virtual tour of the Island House work for our schedules. We loved what we saw, and trusted the staff of Longwood that we said yes to the venue without ever seeing it in person. We knew that the venue and staff could bring our modern wedding visions to life.\n\nAbout 8 months prior to the wedding, we began working with Allegra Micheletti. Allegra partnered beautifully with my planner and vendors to bring our Pinterest boards to life. She provided such great insight to Newport that helped us since we are from out of town. She went above and beyond providing local advice to make sure our big day flowed as we transitioned from our Church ceremony to Belle Mer. She knows the Island House so well, that every conversation about layout/ design/ flow was so intentional and this truly made our wedding day flow so well!\n\nWeeks leading up to the wedding Allegra had some last minute layout suggestions and suggestions of different pieces of décor we could add/swap out to enhance cocktail hour and dinner—and those enhancements truly elevated the day. She knows her venue extremely well- so trust her and her recommendations! I am thankful to have worked alongside her and to have felt like I was planning a wedding alongside a friend throughout the process!",

She worked diligently with our planner to ensure everything was to our vision. Throughout our countless emails and phone calls she truly became a friend of ours. Samantha was my bridal attendant for the day. When it came time to bustle my dress, she jumped right in to help my bridesmaids. Samantha made sure we had everything we needed. Between Allegra, Samantha, Janet, and the entire event staff our day was as smooth and stress free as possible.\n\nThe venue and the view are absolutely breathtaking. "content": "We got married at the Belle Mer July 3rd 2022 and everything exceeded our expectations! Allegra Micheletti was THE BEST! She didn’t miss a beat or a detail. From the tasting to the wedding day, she was attentive to all of our wants and always made herself available. She even provided us with her cell phone number weeks leading up to the wedding, so we could text her if we had any questions. She worked flawlessly with all of our vendors, which also made everything a lot less stressful. Her energy was contagious and exactly what you want on your wedding day. The venue also provides the bride and groom with a bridal attendant, who was also amazing. Her and Allegra always made sure we were in the right place at the right time, had a drink in our hand, and appetizers set aside for us. The venue itself is gorgeous and we happened to have amazing weather which just added to the beauty of the venue. We even had a firework show, a beautiful sunset and the bridge was lit up red, white, and blue. My husband and I felt there was something at the wedding for everyone. People were either dancing, listening to the band, sitting by the fire pit, or just outside enjoying the beautiful view. The food was amazing, and every guest had something good to say about it. Specifically, guest favorites were the lamb lollipops, chilean seabass and the expresso bar (this was a hit!). It truly was the wedding of our dreams and we couldn’t thank Allegra and the Belle Mer team enough for making this day so special!",

The team worked closely with our vendors to integrate our florals and musicians to the space to create our ideal event - guests are still raving. But none of those were the most important factor in our overall experience - one that started over 2 years ago. \n\nAllegra Michelleti was our planner/coordinator and ultimately our friend (as my wife said as we drove off the day after the wedding). I have not experienced a better example of client service than Allegra provided. As we looked around the room before the wedding, Allegra blended in with family and friends, displaying genuine excitement, and happiness (and organizational skills)- this illustrates what we felt throughout our experience. \n\nFor months leading up to the wedding, over countless phone calls, emails and video chats, we discussed details and overcame the challenges of planning a wedding through Covid. Our dialogue with Allegra was always honest, and thoughtful - It was constantly refreshing and reassuring as we worked toward our vision of our wedding day. \n\nI am not typically one to write reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience in this case. Planning a wedding is a long, challenging and sometimes imperfect process - all to hopefully ensure your perfect day. The Belle Mer team consistently delivered, and Allegra was invaluable every step of the way.",

Planning a wedding is stressful and overwhelming, but our event coordinator Allegra kept us on track throughout. She is an absolute rockstar. She made us feel like we were the only couple she was working with during the year+ of planning. The day of the wedding we felt at ease knowing Allegra would be with us. She handled the flow of the day effortlessly and made sure we were always taken care of. She not only assisted us as the couple but numerous other family members throughout the day. We cannot say enough good things about her! We truly got lucky having her has our event coordinator!\n\nThe views, food, and service the day of the wedding were absolutely top notch as well. \n\nBetween Allegra, the wedding attendants (who were not overbearing but always present and ready to assist), the food, the views, etc. I cannot recommend this venue enough. The day of coordinator and bridal attendant were on top of EVERYTHING, and I mean everything from the moment that the wedding party arrived to the time we departed. During the whole planning process we trusted our coordinator which really reduced our stress to make our wedding day even more enjoyable! The food. Wow, the food. I really wish the Belle Mer had a restaurant because the food is unreal. Our guests are still talking about how delicious the Sea Bass was! Seriously, get married here.",

"content": "This. Place. Is. AMAZING. My husband and I just got married in early April at Belle Mer and we can not say enough amazing things about it. We were a COVID couple, supposed to be married in 2021 and postponed to 2022. The postponement process was absolutely seamless. The team worked with us quickly to provide new dates and updated contracts. We were then introduced to our wedding coordinator Allegra who was UNBELIEVABLE. Our wedding guest list was 250+, which can be very stressful to coordinate. From our first call with Allegra, we knew we were in amazing hands. She was supportive, honest and an absolute pleasure to work with. Meeting her at our tasting with both of our parents was like a night out with old friends. She made us feel so comfortable and ensured that everything would be taken care of, which it absolutely was. This venue obviously boasts incredible views but every other aspect is also five-star. The food was amazing - we even asked to add some custom options to the cocktail hour and menu and the chef and kitchen staff had no problem accommodating us. Between the staff, Allegra and our day of bridal attendant Samantha, the day of our wedding was absolutely perfect. I can not say enough amazing things about this venue and our experience. If you're considering Belle Mer, DO IT! And ask for Allegra because she's amazing :)",

The sunset over the water is unbelievable and watching it through the wall of windows with the chandeliers and candle light...truly unforgettable. \n\nBut most incredible at all was our event specialist Allegra Micheletti!! My now husband and I keep gushing over how unbelievably lucky we feel to have been paired with her. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, always so quick to respond to every little question I had along the way and providing the best recommendations throughout the planning process. She set the room perfectly even with all of the last minute changes and re-organizations we had as our guest count was declining just weeks before our wedding day due to the pandemic. I arrived the Friday before with bags of ornaments, candles and garland and Allegra found a place for absolutely everything! It felt as if she could see what I saw for our wedding decor and it could not have possibly been more perfect. She made our wedding night the most romantic, candle lit, and unforgettable evening I could have ever imagined!!\n\nAlthough Allegra has a special place in our hearts, truly the entire team at Belle Mer is what makes the venue the most amazing place to get married. From our first tour with Carly Donovan and all of the questions she answered throughout our beginning months of planning, to Ivana my day-of bridal assistant helping our photographers pose our guests, fixing my hair throughout the night, and bustling my dress in the middle of the dance floor!! And the chefs and wait staff are incredible as well, the food was so delicious, timely, served and plated with elegance. \n\nI wish I could relive my wedding day over and over again!! We wouldn't change a thing!!",

Throughout it all, Meghan was the most patient, knowledgeable, and reassuring coordinator we could have asked for. For the actual wedding, there were 1000 details to manage, and Meghan, Ivana, and the rest of the day-of team executed them flawlessly. Ivana was by my side all evening making things stress-free and perfect. Our guests devoured their plates, texted us to talk about the dessert weeks later, took hundreds of beautiful sunset photos, and danced the night away. "content": "WOW we loved Belle Mer! My husband and I got married there 3 days ago and I couldn't wait to write a review! The experience was simply lovely from start to finish. The staff is kind and detail oriented, the food is incredibly delicious, and of course the view is stellar! We were so sad having to leave the venue after our reception ended. We were in the Island House and our guests could not stop raving about the service and location. Perfect place for a perfect day! Highly recommend! I would give 10 stars if I could! We worked with Sara as our event coordinator and she was amazing! Hoping someone we know will get married there so we can return to this beautiful venue!",
