        "content": "We recently had a Wedding in Newport RI.  After speaking with several caterers in the area we decided to broaden our search.  We looked at caterers all over Rhode Island.  We decided to look into Chelo's after attending a wedding at their location on the water in Warwick, RI.  The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly.  We decided to contact Summer who oversees the catering at Chelo's .  Summer was very professional and accommodating.  We were not sure they would travel to Newport to cater a reception, however Summer assured us they do travel and would be happy to help us with our reception.  My daughter and fiancé met with Summer to go over menu options and logistics.  Once the meal was selected, Summer set up a tasting so they could get an idea of what was going to be served.  Everything was delicious and the meal plan was set.  One question we had was did they cook the meal at Chelo's and transport or did they cook on site.  We were pleased to hear they cooked on site.  The meal choice consisted of Filet Mignon or Baked Stuffed Shrimp both accompanied by roasted red potatoes and green beans. Appetizers consisted of Clam Cakes and Chowder and Sliders which were all hot, fresh and delicious.  We were concerned regarding to the Filet preparation because if not cooked right, it can be very tough.  We were very pleased when the meal was served and every Filet was moist and juicy.  The Filet was covered in a garlic butter sauce which complimented it perfectly.  We cannot say enough about quality of the meal, both the Filet and Baked stuffed shrimp were hot moist and delicious.  Summer and her staff were attentive, polite and professional.  From appetizers through desserts everyone loved the food.  When looking for a wedding caterer save yourself time and money by going with Chelo's.   Your guaranteed to be completely satisfied with both the food and the service.  Chelo's took care of everything from setup, getting the linens and tableware to clean up.  Summer and her staff are amazing and I would recomment them for any Banquet or Catering needs.",

        "content": "My wife and I rented out the upstairs of Chelo's for our wedding reception.  It was a great experience.  The room comfortably held 80 of our guests.  The dance floor had enough space to fit the DJ and for people to dance.  We chose to have a buffet and the food was great!  Summer provided great customer service and made sure everything ran smoothly between the kitchen, guests, and DJ.  Because of this my wife and I were able to enjoy our wedding celebration and not worry about anything.   Chelo's is also gay friendly and made my wife and me feel very welcomed.  I recommend this venue if you want to have fun at your wedding and have an ocean view.",

        "content": "This was a great site for a rehearsal dinner.  The food was great (we had a buffet), prices were good, and the room was good.  there is a water view, but keep in mind there will be people at the outdoor bar right outside the glass door--so it is not the most private room.  I'm not sure I would have liked it for a wedding, but it was great for the rehearsal dinner.  Another nice feature was that the younger folks/friends decided to hang out after the reahearsal dinner-- we just went outside  to the public part where there was a live band and hung out for awhile.",

        "content": "Using Chelo's to cater my wedding was one of the best decisions I made throughout the planning process.  Not only were they reasonably priced, but the food and service was amazing.  We had a unique wedding venue (Botanical Center) which needed everything from the dance floor to the tables and china rented and brought in.  Chelo's catering coordinator, Lori, took care of every detail organizing my rentals which was a huge task.  We had a great experience with our entire wedding.  The room executed exactly as I envisioned, the servers were dressed nicely and acted professional.  They even set up our centerpieces and escort cards!  My guests continue to tell me how great the food was at our wedding.  Thanks to Lori and her team at Chelo's for a fantastic experience start to finish!",

And the FOOD! Wow! Everyone raved! \r\n\r\nI always dreamed of getting married in Newport, and this felt just as perfect- on the water, a fraction of the price, and most definitely better food!!!  \r\n\r\nIt was a dream day, and I am so grateful for the wonderful service and planning aid they provided!         "content": "I have to admit that when I saw Chelos at the bridal expo last year, I was a bit skeptical of their catering expertise, but I am so happy to say that they completely blew me away with their wonderful food and amazing service at my wedding. Chelos went above and beyond to help me, from moving tables with me at the reception site to letting me keep the tablecloths I rented for a few days so we didn't have to break down the tables before the reception was over. Matt and Evelyn, the chef and lead server were incredible. So kind and knowledgeable and on top of everything. We did a pig roast and it was such a fabulous idea. The pork was to die for, the cornbread was fantastic and the baked beans were so delicious people are still talking about them. Words can not express how pleased I was with the service, and I hope other brides are lucky enough to get both good service and good food--- it's hard to come by both at a wedding, not to mention the great prices! Thank you thank you thank you Chelos!",

        "content": "I met with a few caterers in RI before choosing Chelo's and am so happy I went with them. Lori was amazing through the whole process, she even went to see the Clubhouse at Narragansett beach (our reception venue) in advance to familiarize herself with the set-up and inspect the kitchen. Throughout the planning, she thought of everything - like which direction do i want the table runners to face- She happily obliged when I wanted to arrange an ice cream delivery and did everything possible to grant all of our requests and arrange the set up of my personal touches. She was the first person to meet us when we arrived to the reception to let me know things were going well and address minor concerns. Lori left us in the capable hands of Barbara and the night ran smoothly. \r\nI hear the food was delicious and the portions were generous. Even cold, I enjoyed the appetizers. \r\nChelo's catering was also responsible for setup and cleanup which were both executed perfectly. The venue was broken down and swept up with plenty of time to spare and the staff packaged everything for us. \r\nA few days later, my mom worried when she couldn't find the cake topper and called Chelo's to see if they had a clue (it was given to me with the cake top at the end of the night and stored safely in my bedroom) and they remembered exactly what they did with it.\r\nEven though she was not involved in the selection process, Chelo's met my mom's standards and she raves about the service and the food to this day. In fact, she's already recommending Chelo's to a colleague for his nephew's wedding! \r\nWithout hesitation, I can say you won't find a better quality and service for the price in all of RI.",

        "content": "My experience with Chelo's was amazing!! As a newly engaged bride to be, I had no idea what I was doing or how to select a caterer. I researched, made calls, spoke to people and once I made contact with Lori at Chelo’s, I immediately felt comfortable and along with Chelo’s reputation for great food and service, I knew Chelo’s would be my caterer. \r\nSelecting the menu was fun and easy! I was able to make a few changes, add a few services and they even added Sangria as an option since that is our favorite and we wanted it on our day!!\r\nOrganizating the details for the day itself, i was nervous about who would set up and how they would know where things should go. Well Lori told me not to worry about anything and that it would all be taken care of for me! She as right, I walked into the room and it was amazing, just as i had always pictured!!\r\nThe food for the night was so delicious, people I saw weeks after the wedding were still talking about how good the prime rib was, the pasta, the chicken, and of course the appetizers!! A number of people raved about the Lobster Puffs!! The specialty Sangria was so delicious; it was the only thing I drank all evening (aside from the champagne!) I am so glad they made that available for my wedding, everyone loved it!!!!!! \r\nThe staff at the wedding was so great! Everything was neat and clean. Guests have commented how attentive they were to any requests and that really means a lot. I appreciate what it takes to be a banquet server, especially carrying things up and down those stairs in the Rotunda all night!!! What a professional group they were, I am so thankful for everything they did that day!!!\r\nMy experience with Chelo’s was so great, I would recommend them to anyone!! \r\nI could not have been more pleased with my wedding day and it was all because of Lori Z and her team!!! Thank you!!",
