"content": "Where do I even begin? Our wedding was the best day of our lives, all thanks to Hotel Providence! We had the best experience and can't send enough compliments to Annalisa and Serena who helped us pull the day off. My husband and I are not ones to throw conventional events and both girls worked with us to execute our dream vintage / Alfred Hitchcock October wedding. They took care of every detail, kept us updated along the way, gave us ideas, and walked us through everything. I never thought I would say this, but I really didn't feel stressed during the entire process and it was fun to work with them! I asked a lot of questions every few months and they always got back to us and never got annoyed with me. \n\nThe girls took our wedding over from the prior event coordinator along with many others (Only a few weeks before) and handled the whole situation with style, patience, and grace. I think I would have been very stressed out and they never led on they were feeling that way and made us feel very special the whole time. The girls not only helped us on the wedding day, but they helped us with our rehearsal the night before, too. \n\nThe biggest help was the day of. We organized all our decor into several bins and the girls setup the entire wedding for us. I knew they would do well with it and execute my vision, but they did even better than I could have done it myself! They also decorated the courtyard, the bar area, and the room with desserts and drinks. I'm sure the day was hectic for them, but they never complained, always had a smile on their face, and were always so kind to everyone. They felt like part of the family!\n\nAll the waitstaff were phenomenal and the bartender was amazing as well. My friends and family still talk about how much fun they all were and how kind they were to everyone. They even saved us some appetizers when we were taking pictures during cocktail hour and put them on a platter for us during dinner. All these small details bought tears to my eyes, I would have never thought to ask for that! The front desk staff along with the valet guys were also so great to deal with and we loved chatting with them. \n\nThe food was AMAZING and again, was another thing my family and friends are still raving about. There were so many options and the chef even made a seasonal risotto to have in between salads and the meal. We added an appetizer and desserts at the end and they were all to die for. The chef was very open to any ideas we wanted to do and it was all so delicious. \n\nWe cannot thank everyone at Hotel Providence enough for all they did for us. Thank you all for making our wedding day the best day, ever! We will never forget it and we plan on coming back to celebrate our anniversaries and parties in the future. If you are thinking of having an event here, don't hesitate! (Also, the rooftop photos alone are SO worth it)",

"content": "They are the BEST! Kate is extremely helpful and responsive, and she listens to you and helps you make a great day for yourselves and your guests. She is also a great resource for knowing how your day will run.\n\nThe venue itself is also great. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are fantastic, and it's a great place for your reception (we had only the reception there, and the ceremony at a church). \nProbably the best part of the venue is the fact that there's a courtyard outside next to the dance floor. This meant that everyone who wanted to dance could be inside and do that, and those that wanted to just talk or enjoy the warm summer night could do that in the courtyard.\nWe had guests coming up to us at the end of the night repeatedly telling us how much fun it was, and many made comments about how much they enjoyed the outdoor area.\n\nWe cannot recommend them highly enough. ",

Kate was available to answer all of my questions and calmed me down anytime that I freaked out. The event turned out wonderful and I was unbelievably happy! "content": "When my husband and I decided to plan our wedding, we knew we wanted something small in a unique venue. We also knew we wanted to have our wedding where we met-in Providence, RI. The Hotel Providence was the PERFECT choice!\n\nVenue\nThe venue itself is stunning and unique. Our ceremony was held on the gorgeous rooftop terrace, where staff accommodated our request for a rooftop bar for before and during the ceremony. The main dining room was the perfect location for our reception. With access to the restaurant space and the courtyard, too, our guests had plenty of room to dance, drink, mingle, and enjoy the summer weather. \n\nFood & Drink\nOne thing we were really amazed by was the amount of food and food options we had. From hearty food stations and appetizers down to much-needed late night snacks, the food was rolling out all night. The best part was that it was all delicious! The drinks were made well and readily available all night.\n\nStaff\nFrom the initial planning stages to the last song of our wedding night, Kate and Emily handled every detail and helped make our wedding perfect and stress-free. They coordinated drop off from other vendors, helped us make (and keep) a timeline, and incorporate fun extras, like a cigar bar and cornhole for the courtyard and a kids' activity table for the youngest guests. They answered our countless questions and always made us feel like we were the only clients they had.\nThe waitstaff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even making sure to deliver a slice fo wedding cake to the rooms of a few young guests who didn't make it to cake cutting time. The bartenders went above and beyond, even offering to go to a nearby liquor store to purchase the groom's beer of choice when it was revealed that it was replaced by a comparable beer that we had not requested.\n\nThe Hotel Providence helped this visionless bride create the the most perfect setting for the most perfect day. It is without hesitation that I would not only recommend the Hotel Providence for any special event but would also happily host another event here in the future!",

"content": "In June of 2022 I had wedding at Hotel Providence. Everything about this venue and the Hotel P team was flawless from start to finish. I had no idea what I was doing planning a wedding, but Kate blew my mind with her knowledge and expertise in all things wedding. Her recommendations led me to most of the vendors and decorations I ended up using on the day of. She also guided me through the linen selection (which is provided by the venue) and her attention to detail ensured my wedding was beautiful. To top it off, the day of we all left without our bouquets and Kate personally drove them to the church (in MA, mind you) to save the wedding!\n\nThe bridal suite comfortably accommodated my entire bridal party including 3 hairstylists and 2 makeup artists. We ate dinner and had our first dances in the ballroom with about 100 guests. Even now, almost 5 months later I still have people telling me it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. Hotel Providence also delivers when it comes to great wedding shots! Some of my favorite pictures from the day are dancing with my husband on their roof, or the shot down from their spiral staircase.\n\nOverall, Kate is easily the best in the game, and Hotel Providence will make your dream wedding come true.",

You truly don't need another planner or day-of coordinator if you are working with her\n2. Flexibility - you have access to the entire hotel for the night and can set it up as you want/based on how many guests you have - there are multiple areas where you can have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in multiple different spaces which we found kept people energized and moving around throughout the night\n3. easy for guests - we found that our guests really enjoyed being able to come into downtown Providence, stay at the hotel and walk anywhere they needed to throughout the weekend. "content": "We had our wedding at Hotel Providence and we are so glad we did! The venue is beautiful. There are so many unique places to take pictures, from their staircase to the rooftop. The ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception are all held in different spaces, but all near each other. At first, I was skeptical of this idea but when I toured the hotel, I loved this! It helps break up the night and keeps guests moving. It also keeps them intrigued about what happens next. The reception room was recently painted- it is no longer red! We actually enjoyed the red, but I think for some people this color can be too dramatic or dark. The room is now a light gray color and omg, it's a beautiful change. We liked the red, but we loved the gray. It makes the room feel so much bigger and it matches everything. Weddings are always expensive, but we found Hotel Providence to be reasonable compared to other venues, especially considering all that is included. We worked with Kate for several months as we planned all the details. She is very detail-oriented and helpful as you pick out all the details. She is so accommodating and wants to make sure your night is exactly what you want it to be. We added things here, took things away there, and there was no issue at all- she made sure everything happened. I would often have random questions during the process, emailing them to Kate as they came up. She is patient and kind, always responding within a couple days and making sure everything was clear. We met Emily the week of the wedding and was our day of coordinator, spending the entire wedding day at the hotel. She worked with her staff, making sure all of the decor was set up the way we hoped. We explained how we wanted our decor, but ultimately gave her control to make any executive decisions that made sense- for example, if something just didn't look \"right\" in one spot, feel free to move it to a better spot. We were not disappointed by how everything looked! It was all beautiful, and it was a perfect night. We stayed in a king suite and it was the perfect size for me, 3 bridesmaids, hair/make up artist, photographer, videographer, and the family members who came in and out throughout the day. We have received many compliments for choosing this venue. We are very grateful that we chose Hotel Providence (the first venue we toured actually!) We definitely recommend this venue, and would choose it over and over again.. Thank you!",

"content": "We got married on May 14, 2022 and had a blast thanks to the entire team at Hotel Providence. We had our ceremony, reception, and next day brunch all at the Hotel. From the beginning, Kate was awesome to work with and was super organized. She really listened to everything we wanted out of the day and made it happen. Emily was amazing as the day-of coordinator and the entire day went seamlessly. Rob was an great banquet captain - we continue to hear from people how much they loved the food, and everyone had a different favorite item (and we still think about the buffalo chicken rangoons to this day). The bartenders were awesome, and the specialty cocktails were a hit. The rest of the team, including the chef attendants, servers, and front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. The majority of our guests stayed at the hotel, and everyone enjoyed their rooms. The suites were very large, which made getting ready easy! The hotel itself is beautiful, unique, and in a convenient location. We really liked being able to move throughout different spaces during the wedding (we had our ceremony outside on the terrace, cocktail hour in the courtyard and main dining room + bar area, dinner in the ballroom, then returned to the courtyard and main dining room + bar area for dessert and dancing). It made for a fun and dynamic evening for us and all our guests. We knew we were in good hands with the team at Hotel Providence and highly recommend getting married there!",

Kate the coordinator is amazing! Planning a wedding during COVID is stressful for everyone involved, but Kate and the team at Hotel Providence were exceptional. Kate was able to easily navigate the ever changing COVID restrictions and keep us up to date on the potential impact to our wedding. \nOn the day of the wedding Kate and her team executed every detail perfectly! The food was delicious, with all of our guests commenting on how great everything was. Hotel Providence has multiple spaces you can utilize, and we used the lovely terrace for our ceremony, the beautiful ballroom for dinner, and the Main Stage dining room with the courtyard for dancing and dessert. We loved the option of having multiple spaces for our guests to enjoy. \nIt was the best day ever and and wouldn't have been possible without the Hotel Providence. "content": "We got married in May. Kate (the wedding coordinator) was amazing. Everyone that came to our wedding kept saying how hotel providence is a hidden gem. The venue was great. We were married in the terrace, and had our reception in the ballroom. The apps and food were phenomenal. (ESP the beef tenderloin!) The staff was great and kept everyone happy. Planning was so much easier the way Kate gathered up details for us. It was so nice to have everything all included and I didn’t feel like I got “a la carted” to death like I was finding with other places. There were also ample opportunities for pictures like the rooftop and city spots all around (and the staircase inside!) The suite I stayed in to get ready was like a mini apartment and was perfect for the day of. They also arranged for the groom and groomsmen to get ready in a conference room at the hotel. Everything was perfect!",

We had to find a new venue all together and I found Hotel Providence because they were offering Micro-Weddings. Kate was quick to respond to my inquiry and she put us at ease about planning a small wedding during a pandemic. Kate and her team were so helpful and put up with all of our questions and constant emails. We were thrilled with her professionalism, her enthusiasm and suggestions. The Hotel Providence was perfect for our re-imagined Micro Wedding. The decor was beautiful and the food was amazing. The rooms for getting ready and staying over were large, clean and perfect for what we needed. We took so many fantastic photos in the space and outside. The staff at the hotel were accommodating and welcoming. Kate also recommended a singer for the event, named Emily, and Emily was the icing on the cake. She was fantastic and truly made the event special with her singing voice and talent. Kate - thank you for all of your help last year. "content": "Hotel Providence was the most beautiful location for our wedding. I had been to Hotel Providence before for work conferences and they always did an amazing job. So when it came to picking out our wedding venue we decided to look there. Kate was amazing from my initial email to our wedding date. She was on top of everything and knew exactly what to do. With COVID putting a wrench into most people’s plans Kate didn’t disappoint. She was able to work with us and safely design plans to promote socially distancing. Even while working limited hours she still answered tons of questions and made time for me to come in a few times for some extra detail meetings. Kate knows exactly what to do and how to alleviate any stress. Our wedding went off without any problems. Emily was also on top of everything. She was a perfect addition to our wedding day coordination. Kate and Emily flawlessly organized our wedding party and guests so that we had a perfect night. I couldn’t be happier with every aspect of our entire wedding day. Hotel Providence was the perfect location and provided gorgeous back drops for our wedding photos. The girls got ready in the Roger Williams Suite. It was the perfect size for us to get ready. It had all the necessaries for getting ready. The ceremony on the balcony is magical. The courtyard was perfect for cocktail hour. With the restaurant being closed we were able to use some of that space as well. Which was amazing. It was also really cool to be able to go up to the rooftop for pictures. I could just relive this day over and over. We loved everything about this location and can’t wait to go back for our one year anniversary.",

As a self proclaimed \"foodie\" our top priorities in a wedding venue were good food our guests will actually enjoy and a unique sophisticated fun city setting. Aspire/Hotel Providence delivered both! The head chef even incorporated several requests of ours that were not on their menu. All of our guests are raving about how good the food was (which I think is very rare at a wedding!). I am hoping that my husband and I can actually go back and eat our meals again :)! The Pork Osso Bucco and Jumbo Scallops are both amazing and cooked to perfection. The staff at Hotel Providence is so professional and friendly. Rhonda, our wedding planner/event coordinator was so extremely amazing to work with. She listened to all of our ideas and made them a reality. I am sad that our meetings are now over, because she is such a wonderful woman, I enjoyed working with so much. "content": "My husband and I had an intimate wedding of only 10 family members- I was initially worried that such a small party would be seen as an annoyance by the vendor but when we shared our plans with Rhonda English, there was no judgment or attitude regarding our simple affair. She designed a timeline of events that fit what we were looking for exactly. Some details on the day of the wedding- I had forgotten the marriage license and was completely stressed about about getting that to the venue on time; Rhonda went ahead and set up the whole reception space, which my mom and I had initially agreed to do. Rhonda saw the jam we were in with the missing license and she took the initiative to get the ceremony site/dinner table looking spectacular. Also, I had forgotten to download a song to walk down the aisle to with my father- Rhonda quickly downloaded a song on her phone, hooked it up to the speaker system and we were on our way!! She is a good listener, is assertive with photographers or others who might be taking too much time (in a respectful manner) in order to ensure that the event ran smoothly. Additionally, Rhonda allowed 3 of my girlfriends who arrived on site to get a sneak peak (I did not have bridesmaids) and she asked my permission first and then allowed them to come see me, which was just an added benefit to the night. Another note- there are several food allergies in my family and Rhonda made sure that the chef was aware- food was delicious!!! I would highly recommend any bride planning for an intimate wedding ceremony to contact Hotel Providence. It was everything and more that I had dreamed of. :) ",

"content": "I was amazed at the work that Rhonda and her team put into my wedding reception at Aspire Restaurant (Hotel Providence). The place looked absolutely beautiful and I had no worries throughout the planning process or during the reception thanks to their professionalism. It is a truly unique venue with a great outdoor courtyard that we were able to use for dancing. The bar was no joke and people are still talking about the great drinks and the awesome job the bartenders did (I recommend ordering the ice luge from Art In Ice). The prime rib made by Chef Greg Krol and his crew was amazing (as was all of the food). Rhonda and Sarah know what they are doing and I would choose Hotel Providence all over again without a second thought.",

"content": "\r\n\r\nMy fiancee and I planned a lobster bake buffet through Hotel Providence's restaurant Aspire for our rehearsal dinner. We were very excited about the venue, but when it came to the night, we couldn't have been more disappointed. Service was lacking between waiters not serving water to tables, lack of silverware at tables, and a general lack of care for patrons. There was a general lack of execution between having no cups for butter or broth and no place to put finished lobster shells.\r\n\r\nThe biggest issue was that 9 out 35 of our guests did not get any lobster because the staff did not serve it in time. The Aspire staff were late in replacing food trays and did not tell anyone that the food was available, so we paid full price for guests who only ate a side salad. \r\n\r\nWhen we called Rhoda English the event coordinator, she took no responsibility and referred us to other staff, who said there was plenty of food left and it was our guests' fault for not checking back with the buffet that food was now served. After calling Rhonda several times, she eventually returned my call and said that no charges would be made until they contacted us one more time...They never did and charged us full price. We called back several times and Rhoda was very difficult to contact and took no responsibility. The general lack of contact, customer service, and charging us for food we never received ended up being very embarrassing for us to explain to our guests.",

"content": "I cannot say enough wonderful things about Hotel Providence. First, the hotel's restaurant, Aspire, where we held our reception is absolutely beautiful. It has a feel that is both warm and cozy and completely hip. It also has a lovely adjoining outdoor courtyard and a tented roof deck, where we held our ceremony. The food is high-end restaurant quality -- no rubber-chicken catering here. Our guests oohed and aahed over both the passed appetizers (the gazpacho shooters and mini lobster rolls were particularly well received) and the entrees. But the single best reason to have a wedding at Hotel Providence is Rhonda English, the hotel's director of catering. She is fun to work with and an honest-to-goodness pro. She had tons of great ideas (like late night s'mores in the courtyard!) and took care of absolutely everything for us. On the day of the wedding, I did not worry about a single thing. She even assigned a waitress to follow my husband and me around during photos and cocktails to make sure we got a chance to eat! Having our wedding here was the best decision my husband I could have made.",

They worked with us to create a unique menu and experience that fit our budget and personalities! The venue is wonderful, and our guests still tell us how good the food was two months later!",

"content": "I loved that we were in the center of the city. The outdoor white Christmas lights in the adjoining park and on the street were ideal for night photos. The ballroom was intimate yet not crowded for 100 guests to eat and dance. The staff was impeccable. Great service a very classy traditional event.",

"reviewText": "What Hotel Providence lacks as far as some furniture upgrades and curb appeal, it makes up quickly with service. All employees here go above and beyond. Becky at the front desk was so friendly. Leanne on the bar at Backstage makes some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had (I would seriously return just for her menu). The food was solid too.\n\nIt’s also the perfect central location and we walked to and from the hotel at all hours of the day and night, my wife and I never felt uncomfortable. There were a few weddings in the neighborhood nearby, Johnson and Wales students, Brown U, and more than enough amazing restaurants, cafes, and fun shops."

"reviewText": "I wanted to give a wonderful shout out to the entire staff at Hotel Providence. We (my daughter, 2 grandkids, another friend and her niece) stayed November 6-9 during Rhode Island Comicon. When we arrived, front desk clerk, Sebastian, greeted us warmly and offered beverages after a long trip. We got up to our room, which was the Samuel \"Mark Twain\" suite. It was an absolutely gorgeous room. Our stay was everything you would hope for. When we opted to have the sofa bed pulled out, the staff was initially apologetic they didn't make it up upon arrival, but I told them it was fine because we didn't think we would use it. The breakfast buffet was very filling. The irony was Hadestown was being performed a block away at the theatre. I opted to valet versus even attempting parking in a lot. When Sunday arrived, I inquired about our vehicle since our check out was in the morning however we were still going to be at Comicon. They were overly accommodating and allowed our vehicle to remain in valet past our checkout time and could pick it up when the con was over. They legit didn't have to do that, but they did, and that is an extra tick in the \"they made our stay exceptional\" category. Already thinking about RICC 2026 and will definitely be reaching out to Hotel Providence to book our stay next year."

"reviewText": "Once a year my wife and I do a providence weekend. In past years we've stayed at the same hotel. This year we decided to try something different. Even with the horrible reviews we chose the Hotel Providence. Everything is a work in progress. This hotel proves one of two things. Either some of these reviews are from rival hotel chains/ disgruntled guests or the providence is actually paying attention. I am remarkably proud of you guys. The staff was kind and welcoming the king suite was one of the best I've ever stayed in the food was amazing. you guys obviously understand what travelers like my wife and I are looking for. My wife is currently battling beast cancer and I was very scared based on previous reviews that I would have to switch hotels. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome. We will see you again soon!..."

"reviewText": "The hotel was great! I loved the snack table setup with cookies and cider — the cider was delicious. The room was a perfect size, and having a restaurant inside the hotel that offered a continental breakfast was a big bonus. The restaurant itself was really good as well.\n\nThe hotel staff was wonderful. The front desk worker, Nelly, was exceptionally great — super friendly and attentive. She helped us with everything we needed and even took a group photo for us. My group loves pictures, and she kindly took over 30 photos without any hesitation. She was incredibly patient and supportive.\n\nI’d definitely stay at this hotel again!"

"reviewText": "After staying at your hotel I can honestly say with 100% certainty, I don't understand how you have the rating you do. Your rooms and overall cleanliness in common areas leaves a lot to be desired. The first room was so dirty you had to move us. There was a pile of hair in the tub and the toilet was running. There are also nasty stains on the window curtains. (Room 214) We were moved to room 301, it appeared to be cleaner. Till we got back later to settle in at 11. The shower had many other peoples hair in it, trash stuck on the floor, unclean counter tops and bedside tables. Nasty stains on your window curtains, hair in towels, the room wasn't vacuumed well. The hallway smelled like a cigarette. Im thankful the bed was clean.\nUpdate\nAfter speaking with Brad the gm who was apologetic for our experience. I'm tempted to give this hotel another try."
