        "content": "This venue was exactly what we were hoping for! The food and staff were incredible, and the venue offered a comfortable space for a large group of people. Many of our guests commented on how nice it was to not be \"stuck\" at their table since there was plenty of standing/seating room by the bar, upstairs with games, outside, and in cocktail hour space, yet you were never far from anything. Merrill's has everything you could possibly need for a wedding. Our coordinator RJ was awesome and made sure everything was perfect. Wish we could do it again!\n\nRJ is amazing! A few months after the wedding we ran into a bit of a problem. Our photographer failed to tell us that our photos would be permanently deleted from the gallery after only 90 days, so we had no photos. I reach out to RJ to see if the staff took any pictures of the decorated venue and he sent back several of our professional photos that he saved. Such a life saver! If you're looking for a place that really takes care of you, it's Merrill's and RJ!",

From the moment we scouted the venue, to the actual day of the event, it was such an easy and pleasant experience. These days, its difficult to find people in the industry who care and are eager to help, we feel so lucky to have found and worked with such an amazing staff! Things were straight forward and organized, responses were prompt, and the staff did everything in their power to execute to provide us a magical event! Shauna was so kind and had excellent attention to detail when we met with her in preparation for the event. Tyler was amazing day of event, he checked in throughout the entire night to make sure we were happy and things were going smooth. The staff working our event were also amazing. Coming from a type-A girl, you should absolutely trust these two!         "content": "Merrill's on the Waterfront was the perfect venue for us! Since this venue is all inclusive it made planning for our day all the way from Chicago that much easier. We chose to buy out the restaurant which is one of the options available to you. We utilized the 2nd floor for our ceremony (handicap accessible with an elevator). Lower bar area and outdoor area for our cocktail hour (2 steps below main floor) and the main floor for a seated dinner and dance floor. All of these spaces can be reserved separately as well. \n\nThe thing that sold us on Merrill's was how beautiful the space was despite the cold pouring rain outside.  The space is open with high ceilings and large windows overlooking the harbor. Not to mention hotel accommodations across the street and the cute downtown area of New Bedford, a 5 minute walk away. And as I mentioned before, handicap accessibility. \n\nMerrill's staff were also helpful and accommodating to all of the changes and re-writes that occurred due to the Covid pandemic. As we said, this venue is all inclusive and the food was incredible. It was difficult to make the choices for our menu. \n\nWe absolutely recommend Merrill's to anyone having a wedding. It’s also just a great place for dinner too!",

The waterfront view was beautiful and peaceful. The rates were extremely competitive, and virtually no minimum charge. We had less than 25 people. So for a smaller group, it's hard to beat this place and the quality was amazing. \n\nWe worked directly with Krystol and she was incredible. Extremely responsive to emails and phone calls, and catered everything exactly to our specifications. The food was wonderful. Service at the restaurant was amazing. The appetizers never stopped, until the main course was served. We even had a few guests show up late, and they still made them a full course meal for no extra charge. \n\nWould highly recommend this restaurant!",

Victoria was nothing short of exceptional. She is organized, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail is perfect. She guided us through the planning process with ease, answered every question quickly, and made sure the day ran flawlessly from start to finish.\n\nThe staff at Merrill’s was attentive, the food was amazing, and every part of the venue looked stunning. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the view, the service, and how smoothly the night flowed.\n\nWe’re so grateful to Merrill’s and especially to Victoria for helping create a day we’ll cherish forever. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the entire staff was wonderful—so friendly, courteous, and attentive. The restaurant was spotless and beautifully maintained. Communication was excellent from start to finish; every call and email was answered promptly and professionally. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Merrill’s for any special event or just a great meal!"

        "reviewText": "Merrill's is a classic seafood restaurant and bar overlooking a working pier with seating outdoors in good weather, a banquet room for special events, and an open area for the bar and dining.  On a Friday night, the place was filled with ppl noisily enjoying their time.  The wait staff had their hands full attending to everyone. Bread baskets with honey butter were brought early.  The most frequently ordered entree by our party was the Shore Tour.  It consists of two stuffed, butterflied shrimps, a small slice of cod, and four tender sea scallops baked in a bowl topped with seasoned bread crumbs. Sides were added.  Most of us requested the garlic mashed potatoes, the coleslaw or green beans. The bowls were way too much for the sides.  Additional orders were Calamari and a Smashed Burger."

        "reviewText": "Group of us came to try out their brunch. Nice cozy atmosphere right on the water. Started with the mimosa flights. Glasses were pretty small maybe 2oz each. All of the flavors were good though. Solid selection of food choices. The food was average/decent.  Nothing was great or amazing. Ended with a couple martinis which were good. Service was great. Overall good service and atmosphere but food was just average. Not sure I would go back again for brunch. Maybe try again for a lunch in the future."
