They helped us from the start to secure our date and make decisions within our budget. The team was communicative in the planning process and patient with us when we delayed decision points. \n\nThe say of coordination and service was marvelous. They kept us on track and handled I'm sure hundreds of things behind the scenes so we didn’t have to. Everyone seemed to know that to do when, and everything seemed to flow incredibly smoothly from the moment we did our first look. ",

"content": "We got married at OceanCliff at the beginning of October and could not have been happier with our experience! Apart from it being a stunning venue, the staff were also so kind and attentive through our wedding rehearsal, wedding day, and entire planning process. We initially worked with Amanda to book the venue, she was very helpful in answering questions that arose throughout planning our wedding. Rei was our day of coordinator through OceanCliff and was truly incredible. Rei went above and beyond to ensure our day ran smoothly and was so attentive to my husband and I. Our guests have not stopped talking about how incredible the venue staff was! We loved that we were able to reserve a block of rooms at OceanCliff and spend the weekend at our wedding venue with our close family and wedding party. If you're looking for a stunning venue with 7-star service, we cannot recommend OceanCliff enough!",

"content": "We got married on Halloween at the OceanCliff and really only have the best and fondest memories. \n\nWe had a bit of a hiccup early on with mis-communication between the Sales and Catering team, but it was all resolved quickly and effortlessly and at the end of the day, OceanCliff recognized the value of ensuring their clients have a good experience. \n\nRight from our walkthrough of the venue and locking down our date with the Sales team (Galen Cobb) to coordinating with the Catering team (Elizabeth O’Connell) on our tasting and final meal and drinks selection, to planning out the day-of with the Banquet Team (Taylor Russo)- it was all perfect!\n\nGalen knew how much my husband and I loved the venue and made it possible for us to have our wedding at OceanCliff. \nElizabeth worked effortlessly to help us with our hor d’ouevres and plated meal selections and answered all of our questions and follow ups. \nTaylor’s on-point attitude the day of the wedding right from helping my wedding coordinator setup to ensuring the couple were well fed and hydrated to ensuring every aspect of the wedding followed the timeline to the tee, was just magnificent. \n\nWe also chose to stay the night of at OceanCliff and the morning views were just magical (this was around fall, so the tree leaves hanging over our windows were a gorgeous mix of burnt orange, dark red, yellow and green).\n\nI appreciate each one of them going above and beyond to make sure my husband and I had a one of a kind experience.",

"content": "We had our wedding at OceanCliff this past April, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we booked the venue to the final farewell brunch, the entire team was incredibly organized, responsive, and a joy to work with.\nWhen we first inquired about having our wedding at OceanCliff, we worked with Amanda, who was fantastic. She answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly, making the entire planning process feel stress-free and straightforward. Later on, Alison became our main wedding coordinator and she was just as amazing always willing to hop on the phone to go over details, make changes, and ensure everything was exactly how we envisioned it. Stephen was also super helpful in coordinating our room block and made sure all of our guests were happy and received their welcome bags. The onsite accommodations were perfect for our close family and friends, and having everyone right there made the whole weekend so much easier and more enjoyable. On the day of the wedding, Taylor was our coordinator and she was absolutely wonderful. She made sure every detail was executed perfectly and helped everything run smoothly so we could just enjoy the moment. The food and service were outstanding, we are still getting compliments from our guests about how delicious their meals were! And the next day, we hosted a brunch in the Safari Room which completely exceeded our expectations. Everything from the food options to the presentation was top-notch. We’re so happy we chose OceanCliff and will always be grateful for how perfectly everything turned out!\n",

"content": "From the moment I first stepped foot on the Ocean Cliff property I knew this was the place I was going to get married. The building itself is gorgeous, making you feel like you’re inside a castle, but then you see that view, which is simply to die for. \n\nWe had a great experience with everyone we worked with at the Ocean Cliff. Starting first off with Galen. She was extraordinary and stayed connected with us always checking in through the process. She was real and authentic and gave her real opinions which was refreshing and very helpful when you have to make 8392984 decisions.\n\nWe later worked with Alison for our details meetings and all communications leading up to the wedding. She was also sensational. I must have sent at least two emails a week for 2 months and she answered every single one, responding to every question, comment, and concern. She updated contracts and layouts and the BEO consistently and accurately and also gave good advice when it came to making decisions. She was so helpful and amazing to work with. \n\nFinally, our day of coordinator, Reidyn, was exceptional. That girl is going to go so far. She is talented, kind, and has GREAT energy. She was running miles around that place and she had everything and everyone running perfectly for my wedding. She also made me feel so comfortable through the day, like I had another friend by my side. I felt so fortunate to have gotten to work with her.\n\nThere were so many other people who made the whole process through Ocean Cliff as amazing as it was. I could go on and on for days. But overall, I just wanted to say how wonderful it was to have my wedding there. The day could not have gone smoother, the communication was amazing, and I never felt worried that something was going to be misplaced or not go to plan. We talked in great detail of the plans and how to make sure everything went the way we wanted it to go and they genuinely cared that it did. It was also awesome to just have the one wedding per day. That was a key detail also in my selection of Ocean Cliff.\n\nOverall, the best experience I could have asked for, and would get married there again in a heartbeat.",

From our experience, the team who helped with our day was phenomenal (Taylor, Elizabeth, Amanda, Bobby, etc!) and there were zero details missed! Their indoor/rain plan was also the best of any venues we toured because you can still get a stunning view of the bay while being inside. \n\nOur wedding was the best day of our lives and OceanCliff was a huge contributor for that! The location on the water, the difference in cost compared to other venues, the food selection and add ons (Raw Bar and Ice Cream for dessert was a smash hit with our guests) and the stunning ambiance of the venue itself without additional decor. The lawn, the ceremony site, the blooming hydrangeas, the old castle feel with modern touches, nothing compares to it! We have nothing but amazing things to say about OceanCliff. They are the best! \n\nIf you’re considering OceanCliff for your wedding venue, I can’t encourage you enough to book with them. They were super flexible with us on everything we wanted, and extremely willing to work with us to make our day perfect. \n\nI want to especially give a big shoutout to Amanda, Bri, and Kasey - all three of them were incredibly responsive and helpful. Note that we also did not use a wedding planner and I didn't have to deal with any of the vendors - the OC team took care of everything. \n\nBri was especially amazing as our Day of Coordinator, making sure everything went smoothly. We had a few hiccups / mixups (not the OC team's fault) that she made sure our guests never even knew about - for example, bringing out & setting up an extra table when we brought the wrong seating chart, and making sure we waited until the last possible moment before making the call to have the ceremony inside due to the weather. \n\nOverall, I would absolutely recommend OceanCliff! ",

She ensured every single detail was accounted for. For example, she decreased the temperature in the ballroom because she could tell I was hot. We used the Safari room for an after party and for breakfast the next day. We also used the gatehouse as the bridal suite. It was perfect. I would recommend OceanCliff for any event. I hope to have my baby shower there!!",

"content": "We had the most wonderful wedding day, it was perfect in and of itself, but there were some unfortunate letdowns by OceanCliff that I’d caution if having a Sunday wedding there. We couldn’t rehearse in the actual ceremony space because another wedding was being set up, which made timing walking down the aisle day of a little off. They also lost the seating chart for the head table, and even after my husband provided it to them again an hour before the wedding, my maid of honor’s seat was switched during dinner. The speakers went out so music was halted during cocktail hour, and nothing was done to fix that. The floral arrangements for the head table were nowhere close to what my and my florist had conveyed, with the table ultimately looking pretty bare and one large arrangement going as far as to have been left outside once the reception had started. As we know florals are expensive this was disappointing to walk into, so excited to see the reception we’d dreamed of for the first time. Little errors I definitely wouldn’t have noticed on such a special day. But these felt egregious enough that I felt compelled to convey, no one I’ve spoken to has had such issues with a Friday or Saturday wedding, so it may be a Sunday problem and the limited resources that come with the venue on that day. The fact that I even knew about these mistakes as the bride, I felt, was a problem too. The staff was exceedingly kind to us throughout the entire process, however, and to our guests. Our parents especially felt well taken care of, which of course was extremely important to us. The bartenders specifically were super accommodating and fun, and our guests raved about them and the waitstaff who cleared the tables and paced dinner perfectly. All in all, a beautiful venue filled with kind and helpful people, but maybe note a planner seems prudent to have if you chose to book a Sunday date here! ",

"content": "From the moment my husband and I drove up to OC for our tour, we fell in love with the property. The building is stunning and the ocean views make it that much more breathtaking. When we walked into OC, our sales manager, Amanda S, had us sold immediately. She is extremely kind, fun, caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable, understanding, energetic, and down to earth. She was with us throughout our entire process and made sure we knew she was always there for us. Elizabeth O was our B & E manager and was extremely kind, knowledgeable, understanding, patient, and supportive throughout our process of choosing the perfect menu and beverages for our special day. She endured our many questions and ensured our special day went accordingly. Our parents and wedding party stayed at OC for our wedding weekend and we felt right at home. Stephen, who leads the front desk, is extremely kind, funny, and supportive. He ensured we had everything we needed to make for a smooth wedding day and weekend. Rei was our day of coordinator and rocked it. She is knowledgeable, understanding, supportive, and truly will do whatever it takes to ensure your big day is the way you planned it to be and dreamed it to be. She is very detail oriented and brought our vision to life. OC will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our family and friends too. At OC, they are family. And they make you feel a part of their family throughout the entire process and your big day. We look forward to our many visits back in the future. The food was delicious and the beverages were excellent. We had a cold November day and you wouldn’t have known when you stepped inside. The fireplaces made it so cozy. The ballroom exceeded our expectations and felt so cozy and romantic, the way we planned it to be! We highly recommend having your wedding at OC! You will not regret it. We had our ceremony at a church and then returned to OC for pictures. We were able to have our dog there for our pictures. They all love dogs at OC. They are so inviting and welcoming of them. Ours truly felt like their family. We even brought our dog on site weeks before the wedding and they let us have a picnic on the lawn with him. We will never forget these cherished memories. And we never want to! We are sad the day is over, but we are so happy to look back on our wedding day and pictures and know we had our dream wedding at the most magical venue. Dreams do come true! From the moment we reached out to OC, our assigned sales manager, Amanda, was so incredibly helpful. I had so many questions about timelines, room blocks, vendor suggestions, etc. and she would email me back so quickly to help! Stephen was also super helpful with organizing our room block and helping out with wedding morning details such as having chairs for hair & makeup artists! In the months leading up to the wedding, we met with Elizabeth who was so so amazing - she truly helped our wedding vision come to life! Bree, our awesome day of coordinator, made everything go smoothly in the background which led to an stress-free day :) Big shout out to Nick too! He never let our glasses go empty and always kept an eye out for us on our wedding day if we needed anything!\n\nThe venue is absolutely stunning but what impressed us even more was how incredibly staffed OceanCliff is! "content": "We had the most amazing wedding at OceanCliff. From the second we walked onto the grounds at our first tour with Suzanne, we knew this was the place! We absolutely loved the ceremony spot that was surrounded by beautiful hydrangeas with a full oceanfront view and the elegant ballroom with gold chandeliers. Key details that really sold us on OceanCliff were the stunning view, the more affordable Thursday wedding option with a lower food and beverage minimum, and the single event per day policy. \n\nKasey was our contact person while planning the final details of our wedding. She answered all of our endless questions in the weeks leading up to the wedding and was able to make last minute changes up until the day before. \n\nLogistics wise, we really appreciated that the venue stored our wedding decor in a locked closet after the rehearsal and on the day of, the venue offered a complimentary breakfast to those that stayed at the hotel. They also provided extra tables and chairs for the hair and makeup artists. \n\nOur venue coordinator Rei was absolutely OUTSTANDING!! She was extremely organized and seamlessly adjusted to the problems that popped up throughout the day - the rain, late delivery of our signature drinks from an outside vendor, and last minute timeline changes. No one even knew that anything had gone wrong during our day. She went above and beyond and we can’t thank her enough! Our decor was set up by the banquet staff just how we had imagined. It had started drizzling right as we were lining up for the ceremony, but the staff knew how much we wanted to have our ceremony outside, so they continued on with the outdoor plan. The ceremony was so beautiful, no one cared about the rain. \n \nMy guests and I really enjoyed the extras that OceanCliff offered including the clam chowder bar, the Ben & Jerry’s Bar, the sweet treats (Cannolis, macaroons, cookies, etc), and the late night chicken tenders and fries. All of the food was delicious! \n\nMy florist is a family friend, so she did our flowers and attended the wedding. She said she had no idea that anything had gone wrong because the flow of the wedding was so smooth. From a vendor standpoint, she thoroughly enjoyed working with the OceanCliff staff as everyone was so kind and helpful. \n\nWe absolutely loved having our wedding here and recommend it to everyone! \n",

"content": "We recently had our wedding at Oceancliff at the beginning of August. It was simply the most stunning and amazing night of our lives. The Oceancliff staff are so professional and so organized my husband and I did not have to worry about one thing. The Oceancliff views are so picturesque and so romantic. It was so easy to work with the staff. We would like to recognize Galen, Taylor, Kasey, and our captain for the night James. All were so very helpful this making this process enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious. Taylor, Galen, and James even made sure we had a plate full of our appetizers from happy hour right before our entrances, so we actually got to try all of the different appetizers, (which I hear normally people don’t eat at their own weddings). Also would highly recommend a Sunday evening wedding as we had the whole weekend before for festivities and celebrations with family and friends. Without a doubt, Oceancliff is easily the greatest venue with romantic, elegant, fun, luxury vibes. ",

Planning a wedding is hard but they do make things easy and communication is so good especially the last few months before the wedding. I loved how accommodating and helpful the staff was. Alison and Taylor were amazing help. Answered all my crazy questions. I planned for an outdoor wedding and Taylor took care of making my indoor ceremony look gorgeous since it was raining the day of. Everyone loved the food and the venue. Highly recommend. ",

"content": "We had our wedding at OceanCliff on 6/23 and it was everything we could have hoped for! Everyone we worked with leading up to wedding day was incredible. Amanda made us feel very comfortable booking our big day here - she was so informative and explained everything thoroughly. She was very responsive and a great resource for us. Kasey in catering was amazing. She helped us work through so many of the details. She always answered my many (and I do mean many) questions quickly and professionally. It felt like she really went above and beyond for us. Stephen at the front desk made booking the rooms easy and had multiple rooms ready early for us.\n\nThe staff who worked the day of our wedding worked so hard. Taylor and Rei kept our day running smoothly. The bartenders and waitstaff worked quickly and attentively - a big thank you to Nick who waited on us specifically. He handled everything from carrying the train of my dress to always making sure we had a drink.\n\nAs far as the views go - you really can’t beat them. They are the best views in Newport. The property as a whole is beautiful - we were able to get great photos in multiple different parts of the property. \n\nThe food was outstanding. We’ve heard from many guests that it was the “best food they’ve ever had at a wedding.”\n\nMostly importantly, we had so much fun! Thank you OceanCliff for giving us the best day of our lives!\n\nWe absolutely, 100% recommend having your wedding here.",

"content": "I don't know if there will ever be enough words to express how truly amazing OceanCliff is!!! This was the first venue my husband and I toured, and we knew instantly this was where we wanted to get married. The second I walked in the doors, I got chills. OceanCliff is a true fairytale. \nNot only is it the MOST beautiful place, but the staff is absolutely amazing, truly the best! The second I reached out and spoke to Susanne, one of the sales manager's, I was taken away by how kind she was. I truly felt she cared and wanted to make sure we felt comfortable and had all of our questions answered. Susanne was extremely responsive and informative, and was always there to hop on a quick call anytime we had a question or I needed planning advise. She is the best!\nOnce we booked OceanCliff and started the detailing/planning process, we were introduced to Alison, one of the catering manager's. Alison, is simply amazing! Her attention to detail, professionalism, and dedication to each of her couples is truly amazing, not to mention, inspiring! We are the luckiest to have been able to work with her. Brianna was our day-of wedding coordinator and she was absolutely wonderful! She listened and executed our ideas flawlessly and always checked in with us throughout the weekend to see if we needed anything. She made sure our day was nothing short of perfect. \nStephen at the front desk is the sweetest! My parents stayed over the night of our wedding and he upgraded their room, it was so kind of him and we are so grateful we got to meet and work with Stephen!\nThe outpour of kindness from each and every one of the team is truly something we will never forget and they all played such a vital role in all the months leading up to and on the best day of our lives. The attentiveness, professionalism, and kindness they have towards their couples is second to none. OceanCliff truly makes you feel like a part of their family. \nAlso, the food and drinks were absolutely amazing!!! Top notch! And the wait staff were the sweetest. They truly took the time to make sure you were having the best day and were always there for you, your family, and your guests. \nAbsolutely everything about our wedding was perfect and a true dream. We keep hearing from our guests that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to and we have all of OceanCliff to thank for this!\nI feel like the luckiest bride to have been able to get married at the most beautiful place and also have met some of the kindest people!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. \nTo all future engaged couples, look no further. OceanCliff is the most perfect place. I would recommend a million times over. They were communicative, detail oriented, and always made sure we were taken care of.\n\nAmanda was a dream consultant to work with! She always answered emails or text in a quick manner, provided solutions when needed, and continuously checked in to ensure everything was going exactly how we wanted it to go.\n\nStephen at the front desk was a rockstar! With a big group all wanting to stay in the mansion he had a lot of people to talk to. He always kept me in the loop. "content": "We have just attended the wedding of some very close family of ours and had a wonderful experience with the Ocean Cliff Hotel. From the moment we arrived as members of the wedding party we were made to feel as family, from the warm and receptive Front Desk Managers that greeted the family (and fixed any problems that popped up!) like Susan and Heidi to the wildly talented and responsive servers like John (who never failed to greet a guest or open the doors to welcome them!) Reidyn, Oswaldo, and Zander that jumped on every request or difficulty that came their way. \n\nKarl and Dan were our bartenders for the evening and there was not a drink mentioned that they could not create. They were exceptionally personable and made everyone feel like they were finally coming home after a long spell away. \n\nTaylor and Briana assisted with planning and had a solution or fix for every last minute change or addition that came by. \n\nMichael was our Night Auditor who quickly became our late-night guardian angel by providing and assisting our messy but well intentioned group with anything we needed. He was a fabulously knowledgeable individual that we were thrilled to have spent the late nights with. \n\nThis beautiful facility and their unerring staff have made every single guest feel like they belong at every turn. My wife and I were truly blessed to spend a weekend here among so many people that made us feel so special and cared for during our short stay. I cannot recommend this location enough for weddings, celebrations or other events moving forward. We thoroughly look forward to our next return to the Ocean Cliff Hotel and it is solely thanks to the exceptional and selfless staff on hand to welcome all of us as family finally coming home. ",

"content": "Everything about our wedding day was perfect - a pure 10/10, We were hesitant to have a March wedding due to the uncertainty of Mother Nature but our day was simply amazing and truly a day to remember!\n\nThe grounds are truly stunning no matter the time of the year so we opted to have our First Look outside. While it was cold, we are so happy that we got the chance to be outside and the natural backdrop made our photos even more beautiful! \n\nThe staff at OceanCliff are knowledgeable, patient, and willing to work with you on any questions or comments you might have. Susanne was always there for us and Jim was perfect throughout the planning process. The waitstaff during our reception were truly wonderful and ensured that everyone had a blast - my husband and I had exceptional service! They took the vision I had for our big day and made it a reality!\nThe food is amazing & the views when you step into the ballroom are breathtaking. Not many venues have it all but OceanCliff checks all the boxes.\n\nWe recommend OceanCliff for any future event you might have and if it's your wedding, you are in great hands!",

"content": "Ocean Cliff was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish everyone there I encountered was nothing but kind and super helpful. I knew from the moment I stepped foot on the grounds that this was the place for me and when I saw that ceremony space out there on the lawn I got choked up! I could see myself getting married there and didn’t have to look any further. They made the big day and the days leading up to it less stressful for me as they had every detail figured out allowing me to just tell them what I wanted and sit back and let them do the rest. And on my wedding day they treated me like a princess! They helped me in ways I didn’t even know I needed! From Susanne Day to the girls that helped us on our wedding everyone was just so awesome and superb I wish I could re-live that day over and over again! Thank you all there at Ocean Cliff for making our wedding day so extra, extra special ! Xoxo!",

The OceanCliff staff is the most talented and passionate team with members that have the aptitude and the passion to deliver a wedding of high caliber and uncompromising standard of excellence at a venue that is unmatched and unparalleled by\nany property in the Northeast. \n\nDuring our OceanCliff pre-wedding meeting with Taylor Russo, we witnessed a well-organized, passionate caring and sensitive team member with a can-do type attitude. She was well prepared to execute the mission with ownership to a well-focused vision of delivering an exceptional event. Taylor, Alison Davis, Susanne, Joe, and several other OC staff members were integral to the success of the wedding, and of the planning leading up to the big day. "content": "We LOVE Oceancliff!! My Husband and I got married at Oceancliff this past August, and we cannot say enough good things about this venue. We toured and booked with Susanne, and from day one we felt well taken care of. She helped to make Oceancliff feel like the perfect spot for us, and we truly knew we were putting our wedding in the best of hands. We booked two years in advance, and throughout the long planning process, Susanne and all other staff members were always eager to answer our questions and provide planning guidance. From booking, to planning, to having the BEST wedding day, everything exceeded our expectations. All the staff was friendly, professional, accommodating, and made us feel very special. Our wedding was also seamless, I honestly don't think one singular thing went wrong. In addition to the wonderful staff, the venue is also absolutely gorgeous. We had the best views and the most beautiful photos to look back on. Finally, you can always come back and visit- whether that's for an overnight stay or for a drink at the Safari Room- you can't beat that! Oceancliff is the best and we wouldn't change a thing- thank you Oceancliff!",

Amanda (sales dept.) was an absolute pleasure to work with. She’s experienced, thorough & super kind. Our day of person, Devon, was fantastic. He was totally on the ball, helpful, available & overall a great guy. The outdoor space where the ceremony & cocktail hour were held was immaculate & magnificent. You cannot beat the setting. The indoor space was equally incredible. The wrap around windows in the ballroom offer a gorgeous visual both during the day & at night. The food was excellent. Same for the bar & bar service. Overall, we couldn’t be happier that we chose Ocean Cliff for this very special event. Wish we could re-live the experience!",

You cannot beat the view, the staff were so great to work with and responsive, and they were so organized to make sure everything went smoothly the day of. We had a magical day here and would 10/10 recommend getting married here. The hotel staff was also so accommodating the morning of when we were getting ready- truly was a great experience!",

Their entire team made us feel like we were their only priority, when we know they had a million other weddings to plan.\n\nOur main points of contact were Amanda and Jim, and they made the planning process SO easy and fun, and their communication was incredibly prompt (when I say prompt, I mean they typically responded in 24 hours or less). We also had Bri as our day-of coordinator and WOW was she efficient!! She made sure we barely lifted a finger on our big day and really ensured that everything went as smoothly as possible. Believe it or not, we had ZERO hiccups and I attribute that to the amazing OceanCliff Team!! To top it all off, you really can't get much of a better view and the food was AMAZING!!!\n\nBig thanks to the team at OceanCliff for truly making our wedding the day of our dreams :)",

"text": "Hi Charis,\nWe sincerely apologize you felt there was a lack of communication during your interactions with our staff and understand that the issues you encountered were due to an unfortunate misstep. However, in reviewing the communication between you and the sales manager, the “lies” you are referring to were actually an unintentional error. The sales manager promptly acknowledged the mistake and immediately took steps to rectify it by extending additional services as a goodwill gesture. In an effort to make amends, we offered you two complimentary guestrooms and even offered transportation to alternative lodging options as an immediate response to the situation, if you chose to explore that option. \n\nAdditionally, we issued a full refund of your security deposit, which is an extraordinary exception given that our contract clearly states that the deposit is non-refundable under any and all circumstances.\n\nWe are truly sorry that your expectations were not met and we wish you all the best in your wedding planning journey.\n",

OceanCliff is hands down the most beautiful venue in Newport from the stunning water views to the crisp, clean interior, everything was exactly what we wanted. The staff was also wonderful. I can't say enough great things about Amanda and Brianna! The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they are quite pricy, and we generally found the contract very confusing. That said, I think they are pretty comparable in price to the other high-end venues in the area. \nWe will definitely be going back for anniversaries! ",

"content": "OceanCliff is a spectacular venue with the most captivating view in Newport. Unlike some other waterfront venues in Newport (and on Cape Cod), the OceanCliff ballroom is perfectly shaped with windows along the pinnacle to beckon all eyes to the bay. This venue offers the best of both worlds—an outdoor cocktail hour under the upper deck tent followed by an indoor reception in the ballroom with beautiful chandeliers, uninterrupted water views, and a stunning sunset. Treat your guests to the comfort of a climate-controlled ballroom with real bathrooms without compromising on the view—and with easy outdoor waterfront access throughout the reception. We much preferred this experience to a tented outdoor wedding, and we lucked out with gorgeous weather. Also, OceanCliff, built from 1894-1896, offers a more majestic setting and castle-like feel than other more recently built waterfront Newport or Cape Cod venues.\n\nNot only is OceanCliff a beautiful venue, but the OceanCliff team is fantastic and provides unparalleled service. We can’t thank them enough for making our day unforgettable!\n\nWe truly appreciate all the time and effort the OceanCliff team devoted to our special event, from booking with Susanne (and her help with booking our church ceremony as well) to details with Kasey (and there were many details!) to guest room updates with Susan to the 'day of' with Taylor, who pulled off everything with apparent ease. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and offered great advice-- from hors d'oeuvre selections to where to locate the band for a more spacious dance floor with a headcount of 202 guests. \n\nIn addition, we are very thankful to Juwana, our steward, who was so attentive and went above and beyond to take great care of us all evening. Every single team member, from servers to bartenders to those breaking down the tables at the end of the night, provided outstanding service with a smile. \n\nAnd did we forget to mention that the food was absolutely amazing? We heard great things from guests about the poached peach salad, all three entrees (filet mignon, halibut & vegetable Napoleon), and all the hors d'oeuvres, which were plentiful. The lamb chops and raw bar were an especially big hit, but everything was wonderful!\n\nWe have received countless compliments from guests on the excellent service provided by the staff, the delicious culinary creations, the gorgeous set up of the upper deck tent and the ballroom with beautifully set tables, and the magnificence of the venue overall (again, what a view!). \n\nWe were thrilled with everything on our wedding day and highly recommend OceanCliff!",

"content": "Our honest review is a 4.5/5, but that is not an option on The Knot. We will start by saying our wedding day was perfect and everything we ever dreamed of. The venue is absolutely stunning and they did a great job bringing our vision to life. The first time we entered the ballroom, the bride and groom looked at each other and said, \"this is it\". There was never a question about whether we would get married there; we were obsessed! We have no regrets about choosing OceanCliff as our venue. However, there were a few bumps along the way in regards to communication that caused us some stress.\n\nThe main miscommunication seemed to come from either being overpromised things at our original meeting, or underdelivered by our assigned Catering Manager. We got married in April, and made it clear from the first meeting that our priority was to get married outside, weather dependent. We were always told that would not be a problem, until 10 days before the event when we were told the outside season doesn't start until May, but they would do everything they could to prepare. After making some calls and talking with managers, it turned out that the plan for outside was always available, and no one should have told us that we couldn't do it outside. This caused unnecessary stress the week before the wedding. Also, at our first meeting, we talked about wanting a rectangular head table, and were told that wouldn't be a problem at all; then when we received our first estimate of charges, it turned out they were renting the table and we were responsible for paying for it, which had never been disclosed to us and was a surprise, as we were told they could provide that. They did work with us to decrease the price, but again, that was a miscommunication. We were also told that, if we had to have the ceremony inside, they had partitions to put up to cover the guest tables during the ceremony, but later we were told they didn't have enough and we would have to rent those (although they did help by giving us referrals about where we could rent from). These are minor inconveniences at most, but they did change our budget a bit, and we would have preferred that they were up front with us about these realities when we first met with them.\n\nThere was a great amount of flexibility regarding the menu. We made some changes to the bar package, and all changes were met with enthusiasm!\n\nWhile the communication leading up to the event left something to be desired, the day of coordination was impeccable. Taylor was our day of contact, and she handled everything perfectly. The bride and her mother had a lot of very specific decor visions, and Taylor and her team set everything up perfectly! We were also assigned a \"captain\" from catering who was our personal waiter for the entire night, and she was extremely attentive and helpful. \n\nAs people who just planned a wedding, we want to be honest, because it's not very helpful to just read reviews about everything being perfect. We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone getting married, but we would suggest that you write down everything you are told at the first meeting so that when you meet with your catering manager a few months before the wedding, you can be sure everyone is on the same page, and there are no surprises. \n\nTo reiterate, we loved our venue, and if we were planning all over again, we would still pick OceanCliff ten out of ten times!",

From the second we signed our contract, up until we checked out of the hotel the day after our wedding, everyone we worked with was so responsive, helpful, efficient & amazing! "content": "I don’t even know where to begin with how satisfied and impressed I was with choosing OceanCliff as my wedding venue. The venue is beautiful and has so much character both inside and outside. I wanted to find a venue where I was happy with having a ceremony inside or outside just in case the weather wasn’t on my side. OceanCliff is definitely that venue. I believe it’s one of the best views in all of Rhode Island from both in and outside. \nThe coordinators that work with you up until the event are on point and amazing with communication!\nThe morning of the wedding they set up the venue for you, so you don’t have to worry about hiring anyone to make sure all the decorations are in the right spot. They will make sure it all gets done for you the way you want! \nThe food during my wedding was some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had. Multiple guests who were invited to my wedding have told me the same thing! \nThe service was like absolutely AMAZING! I’ve never felt more taken care of and spoiled. They assign the bride and groom and their parents a “captain” the entire wedding and she/he makes sure you get fed and have a drink in your hand at all times! \nSo the bride, groom and their parents never have to worry about waiting in a line! \nEveryone is just so nice that works there. I want to relive this day! It was PERFECT!",

Their winter wedding package was an incredible value and we highly recommend it for people who love the idea of a Newport wedding but don't want to break the bank. So many things came included in the package that prevented a lot of headaches along the way. Every staff member we worked with got back to us promptly and we never doubted that any and all issues would be handled with professionalism and care. The actual wedding day was so perfect and ran so smoothly that we kind of kept double-checking that everything was fine because it seemed too good to be true. You can't go wrong with this venue and this team.",

"reviewText": "We had a wonderful experience touring OceanCliff as a potential wedding venue. The grounds are absolutely stunning- it sits right on a cliff overlooking the ocean, offering breathtaking views in every direction. The food is also incredible, and the venue feels so private!!\n\nThe staff was incredibly attentive and professional, especially Susanne Day, who gave us an amazing tour. She was warm, responsive, honest, and so kind throughout the entire process. Susanne made us feel confident that, if we chose OceanCliff, we’d have a supportive team behind us to help make our wedding day as perfect as possible.\n\nAnother huge highlight was the rain plan—it’s truly one of the best we saw. The indoor space is just as beautiful (if not more so) than the outdoor option, which gave us so much peace of mind.\n\nThe only reason we didn’t move forward was because the dates didn’t quite align with our plans. That said, I would absolutely recommend OceanCliff to any couple looking for a breathtaking venue with incredible food and a dedicated, caring staff."

The property itself is stunning, with old-world charm and elegance around every corner, yet it still feels cozy and welcoming.\n\nThe staff went above and beyond to make us feel cared for — warm greetings, genuine hospitality, and attention to detail that truly made the experience special. You can tell they take pride in making every guest feel like royalty. The room was spotless and beautifully appointed, and the bed was so comfortable I almost missed breakfast (which, by the way, was delicious and served with a smile).\n\nWhether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a peaceful retreat, or just an excuse to treat yourself — this is the place. I honestly didn’t want to leave… and I’m already dreaming of coming back. "reviewText": "Beautiful hotel on a cliff overlooking the water. The rooms are clean and huge.\n\nCheck-in was easy and fuss free. Reception staff were friendly.\n\nA few cons - a bit of a pity because the hotel is staffed to a bare minimum. Breakfast was unmanned and simple - think box cereal, plain bagel, cup yogurt and cold boiled eggs.\n\nThe hotel has so much potential to be a beautiful and classy hotel but it seems like they were more focused on weddings and less on overnight guests."
