The mid-October foliage and lakeside views created a stunning backdrop for our wedding photos.\n\nMy bridal party and I got ready in the Tuscany Suite, which was absolutely gorgeous. It had plenty of space for our makeup artist, hair stylists, and all of us getting ready. The lighting was beautiful, perfect for getting-ready photos and it made the entire morning feel relaxed and special.\n\nSofia and her team were fantastic. She made the entire booking process easy and was consistently responsive from the day we reserved the date to the day we got married. She ensured our ceremony ran smoothly and our reception looked perfect. I didn’t need to give her detailed instructions; she brought my vision to life with her experience and professionalism.\n\nThe food was delicious, and many guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. Our appetizers were coconut chicken, bacon-wrapped scallops, and grilled tenderloin crostini. For entrées, we offered Prime Rib au Jus and New Bedford Scrod. All were excellent.\n\nOur bartender was amazing and made great drinks. We had suggested cocktails (his: espresso martini; hers: blackberry margarita), and both were perfect.\n\nI’m so pleased with how everything turned out. I highly recommend Rachel’s to anyone looking for a beautiful ceremony and reception with excellent food and drinks.",

"content": "Throughout the whole process of planning my wedding Sherri, Tyler, & Katie were all a pleasure to work with! However, it was Katie that I worked most with towards the end & did the majority of the work the day of & who I feel like deserves some extra recognition. She had the room setup way ahead of time so that I was able to see everything at the rehersal. She made everything look perfect & exactly the way I wanted, which saved me the trouble of getting to the venue extra early the day of to do a walk through of everything. She was also a joy to have around when I was getting ready. She made a point of checking in with me periodically to let me know when the wedding party & vendors had arrived & that she had gotten them setup as well. On top of that she checked in with me to make sure I was good & when my mom was having trouble doing my bustle she came to the rescue! She even started the camera to record our ceremony, so I didn't have to bother the groomsmen to do it. Also did I mention she made a point to have her outfit match my wedding colors?! Honestly, she went above & beyond & I couldn't be more greatful. I felt like everything was so on point when she was there & I wish she could've stayed the whole night. All in all it was a pretty perfect day. The only recommendation I have for the venue is that if you get hor d'oeuvres make sure the servers save some for or bring some to the bride & groom while they're getting photos done. That & if you get desserts have the servers bring out a little bit of everything, not one thing at a time. But in short if you want to have an effortless wedding that's beautiful & won't break the bank have it Rachel's Lakeside. Sherri, Tyler, & Katie all want your day to be perfect & will answer any questions you have along the way & do everything for you to put your mind at ease to make it that way.",

"content": "my original venue had closed 8 months before my wedding so this place was my lucky star. my reception was perfect. no joke. Sherri has been super amazing and accommodating to anything I needed and I can't thank her enough. tyler had also worked with us that evening and he was so helpful and sweet. I had not one complaint, even my Portuguese mother, who always nitpicks, had nothing negative to say. I had a bunch of knick knacks to decorate the room and everything was placed beautifully. and my husband and I were able to eat since I was always told the bride and groom never eat so that was so nice! and the food is delicious, love the appetizers!! the price is great for their packages. everything happens for a reason. so worth it. thank you for everything and making our day amazing!!",

"content": "As much as I would like to write a great review I cannot. After all the times I met with Sheri for our October 2015 wedding, and made sure there would be NO strawberries (due to my very severe allergies), and have turkey bacon replace the pork bacon for the bacon wrapped scallops (due to religious beliefs of many of our guests), at our reception there were mixed berries around our cake (which we had removed) we went downstairs for pictures and had hors devours served for the wedding party, there were strawberries on the cheese and crackers platters... All of them. Then when I reminded them I had a strawberry allergy they took away the platter saying \"sorry we grabbed the wrong one.\" There shouldn't have been any strawberries served at my reception at all and when they brought back the platter I could see red stains where they simply picked off the strawberries so I couldn't eat any of it. Then I found out the next day, that only one platter of the scallops wrapped in bacon had turkey bacon. ALL of the other platters had PORK bacon. Then service was very slow and none of the courses were served on time... We only had 55 guests. But there was another, much larger, wedding that the servers were more clearly worried about than my own. I was and still am very upset about the service we received and would definitely not recommend Rachel's Lakeside for a wedding or any other event.",

"content": "If your looking for a decent priced hall for a wedding, this would be it. The prices are reasonable compared to other wedding function halls. I did only give 1 stars for more than one reason. The staff that worked my wedding reception (remind you they do more than one wedding at a time) were nice and friendly but they allowed guest and photographers from the other weddings to walk through my reception during dinner! When I mentioned it to them they didn't seem to care and blew it off. You share a bathroom with 2 other halls which they never mentioned and I never would have thought to ask, I found out a week before my wedding when I asked where the bathroom was located. They allowed the guest of the other functions to just walk into my wedding reception, I had to ask multiple people to leave. Some of my decorations were not set up that I dropped off and others were not set up the way I asked them to. And lastly I did not receive some of my items at the end of the night such as the top to my cake, the cake decorations and my personalized cake topper (which was going to be put into our wedding album). At the end of the night, no staff is to be found to ask any questions to, seems they were all at the other functions. When I contacted them, they responded yes we have it, why was I not contacted when they realized? No answer to that question. When I went to pick up my items, no where to be found so I was told they would find them and mail them to me so I didn't have to wait around. Hmmm time goes by no word on my items so I contact them back and they mailed it to the wrong address, and I gave her the correct address to mail it to because we had moved. So at that point I was upset because I figured I wouldn't be getting these items back, 4 months later I receive an envelope from them with my cake topper and one decoration from the cake! Now as most people know cake toppers are very breakable. My cake topper was mailed in a white card envelope and when I opened it it was in 3 pieces! I'm glad it made it back to me but you would think a place you spent $8000 at for a few hours would have a decency to mail a breakable item the correct way. Yes the food is delicious but not so sure I'd recommend this place after my experience! ",

"content": "I would like to take some time to let everyone know how AMAZING my experience with Rachel's Lakeside was. My wedding went off with out a problem. The one hiccup that we had was corrected in no time and Rachel's went above and beyond to the point that I never even knew it was a problem until my wedding night when my husband told me what the STAFF at Rachel's had done to fix the issue. I would recommend them, there professional staff, atmosphere and the fact they went above and beyond for my wedding. ",

"content": "The room at Rachel's that we used was the Venetian room and it was perfect! I was however slightly unsatisfied with some things during the wedding. We told mgmt that we wanted to do a dessert bar before we signed the contract and were told that this was no big deal. When it came down to the time to choose the bakery for the dessert bar we were then told that we could only choose from 2 different bakeries and no home cooking was allowed. When the night of our wedding finally came, out cake cutter and knife was not next to our cupcakes, nor were there plates or forks for the cupcakes and berries. The actual servers that night were amazing! Bartenders were verryyyy slow! Overall if someone asked if they should have their wedding there I would make sure they knew all this stuff.",

"content": "We chose Rachel's Lakeside based on the fact that they had an outdoor gazebo and ceremony space and a dance room with an attached deck. We had a great wedding, and Sherri Rego had a lot to do with that. She was very prompt with her responses which was great. I found that sometimes though, my email responses to questions weren't written down and then it was the conversation.. \"so we haven't talked about...\" when really we had. Not a big deal. The food was great and the bar service I thought was pretty darn good. The ceremony was in front of their gazebo outside and the backdrop of the venue location was amazing.. the white fenced in area makes it pretty and romantic. The wedding reception was great, and staff and Sherri were right there for anything we may have needed :) Great venue.. I would definitely suggest them!",

"content": "Sherri at Rachel's Lakeside really was the best person to work with to make my dream wedding a reality. She is so easy to get along with and really goes the extra mile to make sure your day is exactly how you want it. The food at Rachel's is amazing, and we got our cake through their bakery. It was red velvet and just perfect. We had our ceremony there in a beautiful gazebo with the lake behind us. Once we were married they sent a waitress out to get us drinks while we took photos on the beautiful grounds. Rachel's Lakeside is located in a quiet, peaceful area of Dartmouth. With all the food and decorations it was quite a bill but if you have a specific budget they will happily work with you to make your wedding perfect. Overall I would completely recommend this venue.",
