Plush couches, pops of color, and a textile collection of old and new were thoughtfully curated, detail by detail. Guests will notice farmhouse charm accents throughout the inn to give the feel of a historical setting while still enjoying modern-day style and amenities. \n\nThe Shelter Harbor Inn can comfortably accommodate up to 100 people for an indoor event and up to 250 guests for an outdoor celebration. Paula and Mike are a dream team and executed all the details for my perfect Al fresco style reception. They truly made everything go as smooth as you can hope for as a bride.         "content": "We had a 100% truly positive experience using Shelter Harbor as our venue for our daughter's wedding (ceremony and reception)., with guests occupying all of the Inns rooms.  We put up a tent on the front lawn of the Inn for the reception.  Paula, the event coordinator for the Inn, was extremely competent and experienced and very easy to work with.  She was pleasant. patient and extremely helpful and always went out of her way to make sure everything came together as requested. Paula was always available for a question or concern which was so comforting and made working with her such a pleasure.   Rob, the head of Food and Beverage, was also a pleasure to work with, and made sure everything went smoothly in his area.  Our guests were raving about the food, their stay at the Inn and how beautifully our whole wedding came together, all on the grounds of SH Inn.  I would highly recommend SH Inn and the wonderful staff members that will make your event special!",

        "content": "Our wedding plans got changed at the last minute our wedding plans moved to Rhode Island. Us and our wedding party and family needed a place to stay. My husband and I had walked through the shelter harbor inn about a year ago as a possible wedding venue at that time it was under construction we loved the quaint atmosphere of the inn. When we decided to have a small ceremony at my husband‘s parents for our wedding, we knew we wanted to stay here. We rented the 2 penthouse suites for two nights which had two bedrooms and a large common space with a huge deck outback. The natural lighting was perfect for hair and make up and the three bathrooms made for a great space for the bridesmaids and bride to get ready. On the day of our wedding it was pouring rain, the space made a great backdrop for pictures. The staff at the Shelter Harbor Inn was very accommodating and brought over breakfast and lunch for the wedding party. When it was time for us to go to our Ceremony site it was pouring rain the staff at shelter harbor inn held up umbrellas and put tents up so that the bride and bridal party could stay dry while getting to their limo bus. They really went above and beyond and provided such nice accommodations for us and our guests. Each room was decorated beautifully they were very very clean. They offered continental breakfast which we were able to enjoy outside with our guests the following morning it was an amazing experience.",

        "reviewText": "Without knowing we were celebrating a special wedding anniversary year, the Shelter Harbor Inn still made us feel special in every way possible during our stay there. We chose the inn from general research, as it seemed to fit most of our needs, but we took a chance not knowing if they’d come through. We lucked out more than we had ever imagined!\n\nManagement and staff members were attentive to every detail and request, treating us with the utmost kindness and courtesy. Our room was quiet, quaint, clean with updated shower and bathroom. Their breakfast was outstanding! They advertised continental, but it had everything we needed for a healthy, well-rounded, down-home meal. Their restaurant is absolutely lovely, offering seating indoors or outdoors on their gorgeous property in a peaceful environment. We can’t rave enough about the dinner we had there! The menu offered a variety of standards and unique specialties. We had a sampling of both that were plentiful and absolutely delicious.\n\nThe inn provides access to a private beach that’s one of the most beautiful we’ve ever been on, giving us the tranquility and relaxation that made our occasion so special and the perfect vacation.\n\nThank you Shelter Harbor Inn for showing us a wonderful, unforgettable time.\nYou are the best!"

The bathroom was large and bright.\n\nOur dinner and cocktails were outstanding.  The staff were attentive and friendly.\n\nThe only negative was that the room lighting was poor. It was almost impossible to read with the three table lamps lit in the room during the evening."

        "reviewText": "We’ve been coming to Shelter Harbor Inn Restaurant since 1983, through its many incarnations, some better than others. Last night was a pleasant surprise, with a few standout dishes that will definitely bring us back.\nThe pot belly fried clams and French fries were among the best I’ve ever had, crisp, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The linguine with white clam sauce and the chowder were also delicious. Both fish entrées featured incredibly fresh seafood; while the toppings could use a little fine-tuning, they came close to hitting the mark.\nOur waitress, Betty, was wonderful, attentive, warm, and efficient. I noticed renovations underway, and I hope they include updates to make the dining room feel cozier and more inviting. If noise continues to be an issue, some simple sound mitigation could go a long way.\nPlease bring back the Indian pudding and hot fruit cobblers for desert. They were so yummy.\nOverall, a promising visit with excellent service and several memorable dishes. We’ll be back!"

        "reviewText": "We had a very nice 3-day stay in late August 2025. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful both before and during our visit. Everything was well appointed and spotless in true “inn” style. These things being said, we do offer a few observations: As noted elsewhere, guests should note that there are no fridges in the rooms. Also, no guest ice machine—staff happy to fetch from basement. It would be nice if there were instrux on how to set the mini split AC so that it doesn’t buzz every six minutes while scanning for any adjustments to be made. Finally, heads up that apart from the double hook for towels outside the shower, there was not a single other hook of any kind in the room—for hanging jackets, long garments too tall for comfortable wardrobe hanging, clothes in use not needing to be on a hanger, etc. Strange, from our experience. Still, if you stop and think about it, the presence or absence of the above really is not necessary for a fine experience, which we had. At a country-style New England inn with plenty of easy parking plus other nice amenities and services, there’s nothing wrong with “simpler is better.” And, again, ten stars to the staff!"
