        "content": "My husband and I booked the Towers for our Reception, but really wanted to find a quiet and picturesque location for our Ceremony. We toured a few different venues in Narragansett, but were in complete awe when we came across the South County Museum. It is such a hidden gem. It was such a peaceful and beautiful venue. We received so many comments from our guests about how perfect it was.  The complementary assistance from Ruffles and Tweed, was also a huge plus. The company helped organize our rehearsal at the venue the day before our wedding and were there the day of to receive vendor deliveries, greet our guests and ensure everything went seamlessly. We cannot say enough great things and would highly recommend for your next event.",

        "content": "Very pretty grounds but staff was terrible. Attended a wedding this weekend and at 10:01pm the staff literally pulled the plug, with no warning, on the lights and DJ equipment and immediately left the property. All the guests were left in the dark trying to gather their things. Thankfully the caterer was able to scramble to find a plug and extension cord to give us light. I’ve been to my fair share of weddings and I’ve never seen such rude behavior.",

The TRUE treasure within South County Museum is the team of staff you receive when you start planning your event. Corilyn and Briget are literally AMAZING! Corilyn and Briget made our decision easy to have our ceremony and cocktail hour at South County Museum. Nothing can compare to the experience that Corilyn and Briget helped give us for our wedding.\n\nSouth County Museum has history and antique barns which preserve the old ways of living when first settled in South County and it is done beautifully and tastefully during your event so definitely keep that in mind!",

        "content": "This place is a hidden gem.  We had the ceremony in the ivy room, which is magical, and the reception under a tent on the lawn.  The museum was open during the for the reception and our guests really enjoyed getting into the history of the area!  The museum has partnered with Anchor Productions (Briget and Corilyn) as their on-site coordinators and they are a dream to work with.  They are organized, quick to respond, and care deeply about making your day perfect.  We could not have asked for a more perfect backdrop for a magical evening.",

        "content": "We have mixed feelings about our wedding at the SCM. On one hand, you couldn't ask for a more fun or beautiful setting. The ivy-covered stables are gorgeous, so our ceremony didn't require decoration. The main hall is full of whimsical exhibits, which kept our guests entertained. The price is reasonable, we had run of the entire property, and it's a great space. Overall our guests had a great time and our pictures will be beautiful. \n\nThe cons were dealing with  a general lack of staff professionalism, organization, and communication. At one point the original event coordinator we dealt with either quit or was fired and we were not informed, we had to figure it out. Also, the day before our wedding we were suddenly told by a staff member (Blaire) that we were not allowed to use areas that we had been told were reserved for our dance floor and DJ because of a quilt show the following week. She insisted I was wrong when I said we’d been promised these areas, and quite frankly was really mean and rude about it. We’d even taken measurements of the area with the event coordinator (she held the tape measurer for us!) for our DJ. Apparently there was no record of this. At one point she was straight up screaming at us. I won’t lie, my wife and I were pretty upset and stressed out about being told we couldn’t use half our venue space less than 24 hours before our wedding, and so we did raise our voices back. When we asked to speak to the director she went to get him, but when she didn’t return we went looking for them and overheard her badmouthing us. When we voiced our concerns to the director she turned to him and angrily snapped “See what I mean??,” as if it was unreasonable for us to be upset about this major disruption the day before our wedding.  \n\nThe director took her side at first, claiming that he had no memory of us wanting to use the space (despite him being present when we were told that’s the space we were SUPPOSED to use), and that the space we wanted for our DJ was never used for this purpose. He also told us that we weren’t entitled to anything that wasn’t in writing, even if promised verbally by staff. Eventually the director agreed to move the quilt stuff for us, but it still left a terrible taste in our mouths (especially since we never got any apology for Blaire’s completely unprofessional behavior), and a HUGE amount of unnecessary stress mere hours before our wedding day. The wedding day itself went by fairly smoothly, with us only dealing with Katie the nice event coordinator, who worked very hard to make sure everything went according to our plans. \n\nThe only other hiccups were that we had been promised the kitchen area would be cleaned before our wedding, and our cake baker told us it was a mess and full of mouse poop when she arrived on Saturday. We were also told that we were responsible for moving trash to the dump on Monday. However, when we got there the trash was gone. I think they moved it to get it away from the quilters, but the director acted as if he’d done us a huge favor. Since we’d already hired someone to haul it we had to pay him anyway. It would have been nice for the venue to tell us this ahead of time, so we could get those hours of our lives back. \n\nOverall the venue is a beautiful and unique space. If you choose this space I recommend getting ALL details confirmed in writing, making sure the director has signed off on the details, and for god’s sake don’t get married right before the quilt show!",

        "content": "We had never even heard of South County Museum before until our caterer had suggested it. This unique venue is tucked away in quiet neighborhood just minutes from Narragansett beach. The grounds are gorgeous and perfect for a bride who envisions a rustic, country wedding. The venue was the most reasonable we had found (less than 1500!). We had our ceremony in the picture perfect area which they call the 'ruins' which is an outdoor space covered with ivy. It was so romantic and because it was so naturally beautiful, we didn't need to add any decor for the ceremony. Although we opted to rent a tent, you can also fit about 70 people in the museum if you prefer to have an indoor wedding. Aside from the main museum, there are three other museums open to the public which ours guests went crazy for at our wedding. The staff, especially Maria, were so accommodating. They answered all of my questions, made sure we had everything we needed, and were so sweet throughout the whole process. We could not be happier with the service we received and how amazing our wedding turned out. Brides, if you are looking for the rustic, unique, romantic wedding venue on a budget, I would highly recommend South County Museum. What an amazing place!",
