        "content": "Beautiful room with lots of natural light for a daytime reception. Outdoor patio for ceremony was also nice. All staff were organized, friendly, professional, and helpful. Some emails from their event management service landed in my spam folder, but I was able to sort this out with a phone call with no problem. \n\nPrices are very reasonable - we paid $1500 to use both the patio and reception room, and did the Silver Wedding Package for food and beverage, which was $65 per person before tax and tip. This includes set-up, clean-up, food, and serving staff! We chose to offer beef and salmon options on our menu (guests need not choose in advance), and both were delicious. We brought in cakes from a bakery (no cake-cutting fee) and they served the cake for us and even plated it nicely with the sauce from the bakery.\n\nWe had a really great day! My special thanks to Tina and Jason.",

We then had our one-year and two-year anniversaries there and continued to be impressed by the quality and flavors and impeccable service.... the amazing attention to detail and thorough professionalism. The location is great - we were able to get a banquet room overlooking the river (and we would have been outside on the patio if the weather had cooperated). Tina and Kim were so helpful throughout the planning process, particularly with creating a custom menu that suited all of our guests. Even when we had a couple of unexpected guests arrive and push us over our expected count, the staff were extremely professional and accommodating. The food itself was absolutely delicious and all our guests loved it. We recommend them highly!",

The staff were attentive but not in the way. The food was amazing. There was plenty of room and the patio served an amazing view for our cocktail hour. The waiters were extremely personable. The room was filled to capacity, but was still very comfortable. As soon as we mentioned that it was a bit warm, they turned on the air conditioning and it cooled right down.\n\nCouple of things of note: There isn't a great view/window to see the water from the room, but it is still a beautiful space. The bathrooms are two floors below --didn't cause an issue but just FYI. The coordinator beforehand was less enthusiastic, and seemed easily flustered when we asked to meet with her before the event to review details.\n\nWe would absolutely recommend this space to anyone for small/medium-sized dinner events. We had a lovely experience and always enjoy the food and service at Waterman Grille.",

The reception space is stunning, completely surrounded by water, and at nighttime it is one of the most romantic spaces I have ever been to. The waitstaff was professional and attentive and the food---people are still commenting on the food! I can say that normally wedding food is awful and I consider myself to be quite the foodie but this food was outstanding. The chef went above and beyond and clearly everyone's heart was in their work. I had an incredible time and so did my guests. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. Highly recommend!!!",

        "content": "My husband and I toured a variety of venues all across Rhode Island to host our daytime ceremony and reception. We toured Waterman Grille after having lunch in the restaurant and because of the beautiful location. We were sold after seeing the event space which is right above the water on a floor below the restaurant with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water, stone floors, and neutral gray/white interior. The adjoining lounge had a completely different feel with dark brick details, leather seats, and a wall adorned with literary titles like \"Papa Married a Mormon\" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The event space has a separate catering kitchen from the kitchen for the restaurant and the food was prepared made to order on the day of the wedding. Each guest place included printed menu cards with our selections and orders were taken during the reception. Everyone complimented the food and multiple guests told us it was the best meal they had ever eaten at a wedding. The service throughout the wedding was wonderful and the event coordinators, Kim and Tina, were professional, knowledgable, and accessible throughout the planning and day of the wedding. If you are in search of an intimate (no more than 100 guests, maximum) location for your ceremony and/or reception with beautiful scenery and amazing food, Waterman Grille is a must see location. ",

The food was also incredible, those were the two major selling points for us. Our guests still rave about the food. The overall planning with Tina was a little disappointing though and often inflexible. I constantly heard \"well 99% of our weddings here don't do that\"....well that didn't make me feel like I was planning my own, personalized wedding. It made me feel like I had to do it their way because they were used to doing it a certain way. It wasn't like I was asking for crazy things either, just table placements or decoration questions. The staff, the actual waitstaff, the night of were amazing too. Kim didn't get too involved unless it was booking the event and then she was there the night of for a little bit but by then we had dealt w Tina the entire time. ",

        "content": "The reception room was beautiful.  Everything sparkled.  The only issues I had was the venue manager Kim tried to take the glory.  Her assistant Tina was excellent.  When the groom arrived Kim was holding a staff meeting.  She blew the surprise of my daughter having an aisle runner.  Guess she should have had the staff meeting with Tina.  She forgot to tell the bride to let her train down to walk down the aisle.  The service was slow to start.  We had a raw bar that the shrimp bowl emptied fast, there was no wait staff on the patio ready to refill. Kim also had us enter the venue room through a small door, rather than the double door entrance.  The manager on duty brought in a group to look at the venue space while our venue was still going on.  After the small bumps had gotten over, the rest of the night went great.  The food was fabulous.  The wait staff were efficient and courteous.",

        "content": "I came across this place online and decided to check it out for our May 2013 wedding. Their site fee is really low compared to other places I checked out. The venue fits no more than 100 guest. But it worked out for us and we even had a small band. We also decided to rent the lounge room which is also on the lower level. If you don't rent it.. it can be used for other events and restaurant customers. I think they try not to but cant guarantee it.. which is why we decided to rent it. There is another small fee for this, mostly a bar fee. Both rooms have bars. I met with Kim who handles their events and she was great during our meeting. The venue is on the lower level with tall glass windows and the water view is what sold me. It looked amazingly beautiful at night. We continued to work with Kim throughout the process and she was very detailed oriented and asked about things I even forgot about which was great. I was more than happy with the way things went the day of the wedding. Cocktail hour was outside and guest went inside for dinner. Staff were very on point and knew everything that was coming next and prepared to go. Everything went according to schedule and two of the staff kept asking my groom and I if we needed anything and made us feel great. The only downfall was that at times it was difficult to contact Kim as she seemed to be very busy or not in the office. Email usually worked out ok. Overall it was good. - Jenny",
